I have an analog multimeter - is digital a must?

The TV has been going funky intermittently for some time now (months), but since it is becoming more frequent I'm getting nervous. From searching around the web and this forum I've gathered that it's most likely either the ysus or zsus boards, but haven't found anything concrete. I'd certainly rather swap out a board for $50 than buy a new TV, but I'd also hate to guess wrong, swap out the wrong board, and flush money down the toilet. I took a chance on a buffer board a few years ago and that paid off. Anyone know for sure what I should be replacing? When it develops this problem the intensity...
