Acer laptop don't power on after shutdown need to wait 5hrs again to power on
i have acer v5 netbook 11.6" intel core i3. the laptop power on then after shutdown it won't power on need to wait around 3-5hrs again or half day so that i can power on this laptop again. please help me? -
acer laptop switch led off in 1 second
when i press the power switch button the led will just blick in a second or it will lit up for 1 second only then off. all supply ok, checked smd caps ok. please help me -
lenovo z400 switch board shorted
i have lenovo z400 switch board. can't identify which is shorted. i tried to remove the flex cable and put it back tried to remove the diode in U1 still when i put back this switch board in the mainboard. no power will come in or the led indicator of the charger will shut down.i have attach the picture of the switch board. thank you please help me....Last edited by tomrush; 12-01-2014, 11:50 PM. -
how to use lab power supply on checking short?
i'm new to laptop repair and i want to know how to check shorted component using lab powersupply?
where should i connect the prods?
what specific components should i start touching if it's shorted/overheating?

i can manage to power it up without the casing and with or without the cmos battery. it's pretty strange since there is no clue of what component is the problem. the laptop works fine without casing. but it automatically turn on when i plugged the charger -

the power button is on separate board.
i remove the cmos battery. but how will i know if the cmos batt socket is shorted

i have laptop asus 1201t if i pull out the board from the casing it power on automatically. but if put back to the casing i cannot even power on with the switch button. seems a part of the board is shorted kindly help me identify the problem. thank you -

i'm working with this schematic of acer aspire 725. i found out that this vrm section is heating when i plugged the charger. please help me know what to test next? no output at 3v and 5v.

thanks for the response sir. i'm gone for few days and finally got this avr of mine. i'm trying to practice to touch components to see if there is a heat. i found one mosfet overheating. i replaced it and the power is on yet no display. i'm in progress now trying to follow visual instructions from youtube. but while doing this does this little ceramic capacitors really get easily shorted because it's really pain in the ass to remove them one by one. but i appreciate if this is really the only solution.Leave a comment:

yes there is small ohms i measured. as you said sir there is a short in VIN. thank you so much...
i want to know where will i start checking the short. are there common part of board that get easily shorted. what does a lab power supply look like? do i need to have this sir?

everytime i put back this resistor PR133 no power come in. i remove all component after this the resistor the PQ40 but still shorted. is it possible that this resistor? how to test if shorted and what is the resistance? what i only know is resistor is bad if open or no resistance. thank you please help me i'm still a beginnerLeave a comment:

i have acer netbook shorted board. i tried to follow the schematic until i came to a resistor i remove and its not anymore shorted. i remove the next mosfets after the resistor thinking its shorted but still problem persists. is there a possibility that the PU2 chip is the one shorted? please help me i have attach image and the schema for reference.
