Yes it smoked, poor thing! So I have had this thing handed down to me over 5 years ago, and it's been my main tv. It's 720p and works well. Last week it died on me, but it still powers on, just no tube.
I opened it up and the only thing I can find is an ugly melted and bubbling mess of plastic of what used to be an inductor. I'm hoping to replace this and bring it back to live again. But I'm at a loss of what type of inductor it is.
First, the label is badly burnt, and I can almost make it out. So I thought I'd look at something close by that is similar and search...

hi, just saw some useful info on this forum, thought i might post up my issue. Got myself an old crt hdtv that blew up a week ago. Not ready to give up on it yet, so i find myself looking at what looks like some blown inductors (not caps). Can't figure out what it is, and doesn't match anything online. So thought I'd give it a go here in this forum for someone to puzzle over!
