Re: Westinghouse 50" TV (EW50T5KW) distortion
I think I have found the problem. Upon taking it apart further down to the panel, I found one of TFT ribbons had a burnt or shorted silver area. Thanks anyway!...

Re: Westinghouse 50" TV (EW50T5KW) distortion
Yes, I will post a picture as soon as I get home tonight (2am). I suspected the same thing but, when I unplug the 1 ribbon cable from the T-con board, the 1 half of the screen looks perfect. I thought if the panel failed, then the whole screen failed. Thank you for the reply, I think i might post a video on Youtube. I will post a link when I get home....Last edited by pottzy87; 12-11-2014, 10:04 PM.

I bought a used t-con board off E-bay and it has the same result, both t-con boards also makes a high pitch whining sound, until I unplug 1 ribbon cable. Do you think I have received a faulty t-con board, that coincidentally has the exact same issue, or could this be a video board problem? I have cleaned the ribbon cable ends with alcohol to no avail.
