  • Re: Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines

The vertical lines were only when I was trying the tape trick. The normal untouched screen is just black with backlights.

I replaced the whole main board which fixed the original no power condition and flickering red light. Now I have power, start and menu sounds just no image. I would assume the eMMC is working since it's booting but I'm no expert....

  • Re: Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines

I have yet to be able to get any sort of amber/green error lights. It's an H series which I believe is different than the other series and may display errors differently. The TV only has a white and red lights that I have seen. I got a white light pulsing for a few minutes with the jump drive plugged in, then the light turned off. I presume it took the update because there was audio again but no picture after the pulsing stopped. I have tried additional updates but it does not seem to force the TV to reflash. The manual specifically says it will...

Tested a second t-con and a new set of lvds cables, still can't get an image. Probably going to call this a one a loss.

  • Re: Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines

I did watch the video, mine is an H series though and appears different. My TV only has a white and red light that I have seen. I used a 2gb drive and the white light pulsed for a few minutes then the light turned off. I presume it took the update because there was audio again but no picture after the pulsing stopped. I tried renaming the files to force another update but no luck. The firmware for this version comes in a ZIP not a PKG but I tried it anyways.

I did run across a technical bulletin for t-con and/or main board replacement...

All of the tape is removed. I have a chromecast connected. The TV seems to be in the initial setup menus based on the audio, so I cannot be sure of the image but there should at least me a menu.

    I did as you advised:
Right U ribbon disconnected, all others connected - Black screen with no changes
Left U ribbon disconnected, all others connected - Black screen with no changes

The only change I could get was with entire left side unplugged and the right side U cable also unplugged. A picture is attached, boards are disconnected at the arrows. It results in a black pattern.

I've done a lot of digging on this pairing process and haven't found anything about these models. The other models appeared to have a specific error code via the front lights for mismatched boards. I've done software updates on it twice now and neither time did it change the results....

Here's some pictures not sure what type of detail you were looking for. I can get better close ups if needed.

What makes you think it was worked on before and how does a VA panel make you think it's a buffer problem?...

  • Re: Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines

Boards appear to match based on what is available on ShopJimmy. I've attached pictures. The top boards are the original and the bottom ones are the replacements which are currently installed.

Am I correct in assuming the EMMC is good on the replacement considering I have an optical light and setup/menu noises after a factory reset?

I can try another TCON but was just debating how likely that is actually the culprit....

  • Sony XBR-65X900H vertical lines

I have acquired a Sony XBR-65X900H to try and fix. It probably was a complete no power situation. The main board was replaced and the TV started turning on. I now have start sounds and backlights, but no image. I've replaced the t-con with no improvement. Cables all appear to be ok and seated properly. The TV took a firmware update and hard reset but neither helped.

Using the tape trick I can get both side to display combinations of colored vertical lines. There is no change in the stripes and the pattern always appears the same. If I add additional tape strips I can get the screen...

  • Re: Dynex dx-42e250a12 will not power on

Checked all the regular style electrolytic capacitors and all were found to be good. The board will still only support .5A not a full 1A on the 5v_S line.

    Any other ideas?

  • Re: Dynex dx-42e250a12 will not power on

So the company replaced the power supply board and the new one has the same exact symptoms as the first replacement. They are both considered "refurbished" and I would assume taken from tvs with broken screens, it seems unlikely that both would have the same exact problems.

I removed and checked the C907/C821 capacitors, both tested good. It still fails a 1A load test.

I also cut the 5v_s line and attached an external power supply to the mainboard. According to the power supply the mainboard never drew...

  • Re: Dynex dx-42e250a12 will not power on

Got the 5ohm resistor and attempted the load test this evening. With the resistor from the 5V_S to a Gnd the voltage was cycling from 0V to about 3V but never steady.

Out of curiosity I tried the load test with a 10ohm resistor for a .5A draw and the 5V_S pin held steady at 4.9V.

If I'm understanding you correctly this would point to the weak 5V circuit on the power supply?

Without the mainboard plugged in 5V_S measure a constant 4.9V.

Ive attached a bunch more pictures hopefully they're good enough to get what you guys need....

  • Dynex dx-42e250a12 will not power on

    Hi guys,
We got another donor tv to work on here. The tv's model number on the back of the case is a Dynex dx-42e250a12. When we originally got the tv it would not power on at all and the power supply board showed no signs of power. We were unable to locate the source of the problem and decided to save time by ordering a used replacement power supply board. The power supply board is marked as a Hisense RSAG7.820.4543/R0H.

After receiving the new board, we now have a repeating single red blink on the front control panel. I was unable to located anything that referenced blinking...

  • Re: HP-T5054 Samsung Plasma Screen Issues

I was playing with the X-sus ribbon cables to the panel. It appears that if:

2 are plugged in the TV stays on and Vs is stable

3 are plugged in the TV power cycles as if the protection circuit is tripped

3+ plugged in the TV turns on shows pink blur and the power supply whines from being overloaded. Vs drops to about 196V.

Still sound like a Ysus problem or could it be Xsus or even the panel?

Just replaced the last 6 mosfets on the Ysus. All of them are now new and the issue seems unchanged. Not sure what to tear into next.
