Re: Nichicon 6800uf 56wv CE 85c replacement
silly question with these snap in style caps.... the solder tab is much larger than a typical radial style, do these large tab style caps carry more amperage than a radial style of the same farad?

Re: Odd markings Tracon vintage capacitor
ok so i ran the existing oddball caps through my meter and it appears that 10/10 does stand for 10uf 10v!
one out of the 5 was within 10%. the rest were either open or waaaayyy out of spec

Hey guys, I'm mainly focused on vintage audio equipment as a hobby. My day job has nothing to do with it though.

Odd markings Tracon vintage capacitor
I am restoring and recapping an old zenith radio and it is loaded with these Tracon brand capacitors. I have already replaced all the caps with actual markings on them , however I have 3 oddball caps that are marked 0/10 1/10 10/10. The only thing I could assume was 1/10=1uf 10v?
Any help is greatly appreciated!...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey, I'm steven and I joined the forum because I restore vintage audio equipment and have to deal with a ton of different capacitors. My main focus is to gain and pass on knowledge to others looking into the strange vintage components I have encountered.
Thanks

Re: satellite C655-s9521d no display
Check the high voltage board that powers the cathodes. Do you get video using an external display?
Easy test if it's just a backlight problem, boot pc and hold a flashlight against the screen. If you can sorta see imaging, your via board should be ok
