Re: LCD TVs now plagued by bad caps issues
Pity there are no pics to depict the carnage. I can't believe that some idiot of an OEM would use crap caps for such an expensive device...

Re: OMG ! .. Asus Using Non Japan Solid Caps ??
This whole Gigabyte slamming ASUS is bullshit. No one I know who, even those who push their rigs on liquid nitrogen have EVER had a problem with those caps. If anything blows out it is the 270uF,16V Fujitsu near the EPS power connector. That is the only one I've seen blow up.

LCD TVs now plagued by bad caps issues
Cheap Chinese crap at it again. LCD TV's are the latest ones afflicted.

Re: Recapping for the first time
Absolutely..old boards are very nice to recap...
Also as willa says, add a gob of solder before you attempt to remove the cap or you will have a nice burn on the PCB.

Re: many mobo's will benefit from polymer cap upgrades
LOL! cool!
I'm working on an Albatron board, which seems to be decent (Panny FJ, OS-CON, WG and crap GSC).
I'm keeping track of the info here:-

And man, I'm gonna take you up on your offer of the 820 uF OSCONs. I'll let you know how many I need. I'm gonna use these for an experiment with a Gigabyte board I have laying around.Re: many mobo's will benefit from po...> I'm working

Re: My new baby!
The PSU looks well built. Check out the resonant transient filter from High and Low corp. Those don't come very cheap.

Well, it was the first time I saw something like this. Jon, you might want to check your Samsons.

Even if it is a fake, it is funny as hell. Plus you can amuse yourself with the endless trolling in the comments section.Last edited by Super Nade; 12-14-2007, 08:50 AM.

Re: Where to buy Rubycon ZLG caps?
Is it just me or does everybody in here feel that the "special for audio" caps are a huge scam? Till date I've not seen any difference in sound quality after repair. I had a dude try to school me on static hiss and the quality of components/caps blah blah...turned out to be an improper ground. From that day, I've been calling BS on all these hyper ultra super cap theories.

Re: Samson (not SamXon) capacitors
I couldn't make out head or tail out of that manual, but it is funny how pictures of other caps on mobo's and PCB's are liberally thrown in. Why would somebody throw in Sanyo or Matsushita pictures instead of their own?

My contribution.

I think I may have made a mistake in calculating the ripple current distribution. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Re: many mobo's will benefit from po...appreciated! :

As if Topower isn't dodgy enough already, now they are trying to rip off BFG with a crap cap scam...
