Hi guys, has anyone got the resistor values? Or can read them with a multimeter for me? R19 & R20.
included pics of how it was when I received it, second pic pads Disintegrated Think they used a shovel to solder it but I’ve cleaned up as best as I can and temporarily wired eeprom on pigtails but tv no sign of life then noticed id lost a resistor and the other I can’t get a reading

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
Hi, sorry for the extremely delayed reply
There's 135v b+
I removed the HOT and connected an incandescent bulb, stayed lit for a few second
There's only two voltages present on the Flyback, they are the b+ in and the 200v pin which reads as 135v.

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
By cap end I meant not using just wires but possibly meter probes?
500v I don't think I've got anything rated for that!
I wasn't sure about testing big caps with a standard multimeter either as My father had a special high voltage meter that he used regularly for tv work. I do have several PS3 psu' from fattys so maybe there's sometjing in those that I can use, never really had them to bits as I just swap them out if they become faulty...

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
That's a great idea, but what about insulating the wires to the cap or is that not necessary? Also what sort of gauge wire are we talking?
I've got a pack of assorted resistors 1/4 watt carbon film type as that's what I use but I don't think they will handle high voltage will they?

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
Thanks for that, very helpful indeed. Its all a learning curve for me. I'm attempting to eliminate all the tests that can be done with the set in a discharged state. I'm not used to working with HV caps that are full of charge yet. I'm fine with discharging the anode.
Any tips or tricks of the trade would be appreciated because I doubt you wait for everything to self discharge before testing resistance. im quite safety conscious....

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
Ok that was definitely a schoolboy error on my part. That diode is fine!
I'll have to see about getting hold of a Philips for test purposes. Would sit nicely on my bench. Just like a big tv for gaming on. I'm the same with modern consoles.

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
I'm going to have to keep my fingers crossed it's not a shorted gun then. I always thought the Sony trinitrons were supposed to be an all round decent set that's what people have been telling me but then none of them have had them on a bench...

Re: Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U red, green, red, green OCP fault
So this will give an indication of the troublesome circuit I presume? I need to clear space on my bench for this as its a fairly chunky set, once I do I'll post back my findings from the continuity test.
Is this the point to always start at with CRT's with this problem? Reason I ask Is to understand how you've pointed towards the C board. Sorry for all the questions but Im keen to learn.
