Re: Recommend a Particular Optical Magnifier for Tiny Solder Job
I personally Like using this if I do not have a microscope handy:
"Carson Optical Pro Series MagniVisor" it fairly inexpensive and hands free with a light.
Here is a link as well:

Re: Help Making Circuit
The easiest way I have seen to do a cold smoker or what your talking about is on an eposide by Alton Brown - on the food network. I'm sure it's on youtube.Maybe that will help.

LGG2 LS980 Cell I am searching for Capacitor Value
I have a LG G2 Sprint Phone (LS980) and it has recently decided to let a capacitor (I'm 80% positive) break loose from the solder and disapear the last time it was dropped. I repaired the glass but now I can only talk using speaker phone.
The component in question is under the back cover and the daughterboard (smaller bottom board) cover right next to the audio jack input. it is the 3rd part from the bottom the first two are right next to eac other then a little...

Re: Dell Latitude D830 capacitor broke off of the Graphics NVIDIA G86-920-A2 BGA IC
Not sure, I was looking into a third party Bios password they forgot. WAVE BIOS. The cap was my fault it disappeared when removing thermal paste that was almost glue as well. I was very hard stuck on like old dry gum. Anyway the cap must have disappeared during that process is all I can tell because I have never seen it pass the extra Bios password.

Re: Dell Latitude D830 capacitor broke off of the Graphics NVIDIA G86-920-A2 BGA IC
The picture is of an almost identical chip (it was fast to download that find my phone at the time. The chip I have is clearly missing the cap where the arrow is pointing.

Do you mean any chipset? I don't happen to have another D830 laying around the house

Dell Latitude D830 capacitor broke off of the Graphics NVIDIA G86-920-A2 BGA IC Chip
Does anybody know what the capacitor value would be?
It is located next to the bottom left corner of the mirror, on the only chip labeled NVIDIA, See attachment hopefully....

this should be the part 2 of the larger message just below.
If the files are readable with allegro that will work for me as well. Or i'll get whatever style of viewer I need.

Hello spidey,
Well from the forums I have read you may be my last hope for help. A little backround: I'm a professional Electronic Technician 12yrs, most of them troubleshooting component lvl board issues/PC repair side business etc... you get the picture.
Anyway I cannot get my brothers ASUS K53SD REV 5.1 to indicate power in any way with/without battery and vise versa plugged in. It gets power to the boards and I'm loosing it somewhere in the power supply circuitry. I am getting voltage to the battery and it will charge but nothing to the fan/indicator lights nothing else. I cannot...

Re: *Craigslist Special* Admin Password Locked
I'd like to mention my own input on here, as not one person (after looking through at least 40 forums and tech website searching for the right jumper location on one of them) I almost bricked one myself before it hit me. If you are going to do the jumper cmos to ground for 30 seconds to attempt to erase it then PLEASE USE A 100 OHM THROUGH HOLE RESISTOR - NOT A PAPERCLIP. Why you ask yourself? this is why, with a paperclip on the wrong jumpers you just destroyed your motherboard. A 100 OHM resistor will still drain the circuit completely...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello to everyone here. I am here because I've only found a few sites that actually have usefull information from the members. I would like to contribute to that in a meaningful way if possible. I was tinkering with electronics since high school. Then I finally went to school for it. Now I have about 12 years experience in troubleshooting down to the component lvl. I'm trying to grasp Cadence /Allegro PCB,PCBA design for work (not a fan of that particular software).
I have discovered over the past 10 years or so That...
