Re: JO47BAIRD power problem
Thanks for the advice. Are these boards repairable I repair kitchen appliances for a living so I'm OK with a bit of soldering if needed. I read on another site someone had very similar symptoms with a Toshiba TV and it was dry solder joints in the inverter somewhere soon as the kids have gone to bed I'll check all this but I don't understand how dry joints would create excessive heat this TV didnt cost me anything so I'm happy to have a play about with it and if needed spend a little on getting it going.

Re: JO47BAIRD power problem
Its running OK with no back on it by an open window but transformers on the inverter boards are 64 degrees power board 30 degrees but the screen is testing 34.7 degrees which seems a little hot to me but I'm no expert in this field. I'll remove that metal shielding from them caps and test again shortly and let you know. Thanks again for your help

Re: JO47BAIRD power problem
Ive just connected it to the sky box and left the TV open I have a laser temp gauge my thinking is I'll run the TV until it goes off again and I'd be able to accurately check the temps of the boards does any of you know what temp they should safely be running at before they cut off the TV or do you think doing it this way wouldn't help at all. And thank you for your help its very appreciated

Re: JO47BAIRD power problem
That's dick Barton I'll give that a try if it goes off quicker like that does it mean new board or could it be repaired just waiting for my wife to come home to tell me where she hides the hair dryer

Re: Samsung UE40D5520 KEEPS REBOOTING
Hi mate. I've tried all of this and still nothing working. IT did look like it was trying to do something then green squares appeared on the screen but turned off and carried on rebooting again.

Re: Samsung UE40D5520 KEEPS REBOOTING
Thanks for the reply. I have contacted Samsung on the phone who have said because the TV is 2 years old I will have to take it to a Samsung tech. GAVE me contact details and the tech said it'll be £160 + vat for a main board. Not something I'm willing to accept over the phone without him even looking at it. Although after some research I unplugged the main board and tried the TV again this time it stayed on screen lights nothing else without turning straight off tried again with main board reconnected and shuts itself down and restarts again...
