Re: Onn onc50ub18c05 50" led
Thank you both for your responses.
Blow dryer trick did not seem to phase it.
Voltage (DC right) on the red wire pin of that terminal did exactly what you described. Does that say backlight is bad ? if so how hard to change it ? I have only swapped a few TV boards.
Thanks again Guys

Onn onc50ub18c05 50" led
I have searched and not an electronics person so forgive me if I am about to sin and fixing to ask dumb questions.
In-Laws set they state it started to start up slower and slower till just black screen but they think still had sound.
I plugged it up and the Red status light is on till you push start and then it goes out and with the back off the only illumination I see is a red glow from the optical port. I checked the voltages on the connector that leads to the control buttons and have 5V where it states it should.
There is only two boards Ima call one the main big board...

ONN Roku Mod # 100018971 58" LED Help please
So this is a friends from work I would like to help if possible. TV powers on to a Black screen then eventually turns white. Volume seems to work but no way to navigate to get TV on to verify. ShopJimmy has all three boards for 50.00 but can it be the screen itself ? Any tips appreciated.
He has tried unplugging for 15 mins and swapping the HDMI input.
Merry Christmas

LG47LB5900 ( Help Please )
I have a 47" LG that I noticed a few weeks ago the bottom left of the screen was starting to slightly dim and brighten. Now when you turn it on it flashes like a strobe light. It does it no matter the input of TV, HDMI, etc. Is this worth fixing ? I am a amateur but would like to do it myself if possible. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,

Vizio M550NV help--Rookie repair
I have read the search threads on this set.
Here is my story.
In-laws set, 4 years old. Dish struck by Lightning. Only thing would come on was the solid color vizio power light. Took apart and tested output voltages and found only standby of 5.19 on two terminals. Ordered a used ebay power supply board and installed it. Same voltage so I assume I did not know how to test properly the Pwr on jumper deal but it was not clearly marked so I didn't wanna smoke something else. So I pulled replacement board and put old one back in. New board to be returned I just pay shipping. Now when...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi my name is Kyle and I am trying to repair a Vizio M55NV that was struck by lightning. I will post what I have done and seek feedback in another thread. TV was given to me just hoping to get lucky and get it working again.
