Today a friend donated a Magnavox 40MF401B/F7 to the shop. It has a solid red light at plug in and when you press the power button and it blinks 18 times, and at the 13th blink the back light turns on and at blink 16 it shuts off and continues to blink two more times.
The led turns off and the tv remains on with proper voltages all around but with no back light. I removed the inverter connector while the set was powered on, re-connected it and the back light illuminates for 2 seconds then shuts off while all power voltages on the power board remain...Leave a comment:

Hello, I just serviced the same set a few days ago. I bought the eeprom from shopjimmy. I installed it and my picture was 180 out. I had a hard time reasoning with them. I removed their eeprom and put it in the trash because I could enter service mode but could not make any selections. I sat my old eeprom on a metal surface with all the legs touching the surface for five minutes. Installed it and the set is almost on its 48 hour test and has not shut off. I emailed shop jimmy again so I'm still waiting. I have a lg remote from another tv and it turns on the Element and I got into service mode but when I get there I can't go up or down in the menu. I have to use the volume button to control the up or down function when selecting inputs. So I try using the volume buttons on the remote while in service to go up or down and takes me out of service mode and adjusts the volume. Hello good folks, today I received EEPROM-ELDFT406-28H1403A V.1 from my favorite place, Shop Jimmy. The reason I purchased the item was because I had an issue where about ten seconds after you switch inputs the set would shut off. You were able to turn it back on if you want, but if you were in any input except tv it would shut back off. Using a $10 antenna on the set, I was able the run the set for 24 hours without it shutting off until I switched the input to HDMI.

I was given this tv and it was dead. I repaired many parts on the power board and now I get the relay clicking but no power to inverters. 12v is present where it should be, no 5 volts and all fuses on the power board and main board are ok. Green blinking LED (non stop) when you plug it in. Nothing happens when you push the power button, the reset button functions as it should. Appears it is stuck thinking it's in reboot mode. I can't find any help from the mitsubishi site as I have the only model listed without a firmware update. I'm about ready to turn this into trash, but I know somebody has... -
