Re: Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
Well I got antsy and after a lot of reading I was confident I had to peel off the tab drivers so I did and...it worked! I realize it is prone to complete failure once the left side drivers get burnt out/die but for a free tv i can't complain! Thanks everyone for your help in getting me to this point! Let me know if anyone has any questions to help further understand this repeating problem that Sharp is know known for! Thanks!

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
Well I found the bad driver, looks burned out, pictures below. first picture is of the bad burned one, second picture is of one of the good ones (to show the difference). From what I've read and watched I am to carefully pull all these out from the screen? I want confirmation before I do something irreversible! Thanks everyone!...Last edited by egreene15; 12-15-2015, 07:34 PM.

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
Here are the pictures of the one cable disconnected, when i disconnect the other side by itself I get no difference in my display from my original problem. I am not at all sure what the issue is or how to go forward from here, thanks for any help!...

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
So power supply board is ok, swapped it out and no change as predicted. I unhooked the right corner(looking at the back) interconnecting cable and the opposite side screen(right side, looking at the screen side) looks perfect. I unhooked both back corner cables and got a bright white screen with flickering lines all over. I unhooked just the back left cable and screen pretty much stayed the same as if i hadn't unhooked anything. Thoughts?

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
Well I swapped out the T-Con board to no avail, still same issues. I've got a power supply board on the way and I'm going to try that. I did a hard reset after I swapped the tcon board, does anyone know if I need to do anything else after swapping a board that could maybe reset things? Thanks for your help!

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
I took off the tcon board and looked on both sides for an IC labeled Maxim but couldn't find anything. Here is a picture if that helps you guide me...
I've been thinking its a tcon issue all along but not sure how to test it...thinking about just ordering a new board and testing it by pure replacement. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!...

Sharp Aquos lc-70le857u 70" TV display problem
Hey everone, i'm new here and have spent a few days searching threads for my symptoms but haven't found anything...I'll quickly describe and see if any of you can help.
My in-laws tv stopped working a few months ago, threw the 2-5 blinking code and wouldn't turn on. Being out of warranty, barely, and not wanting to spend more money on it (was already replaced one), they put it aside, unplugged. Fast forward a few months to earlier this week...I plugged it in and there was no error code! However the display was clearly not working correctly, no A/V sources are connected to the tv,...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey everyone! Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this forum, I have high hopes it will be a very useful tool for me in the future. A little about me...I'm a USAF Pilot, with a Mech Eng degree, pretty tech savvy and like to think I can fix most of my own problems which is what brought me here! Looking forward to chatting with some of you!
Thanks!
Eric
