Re: vizio e470vle power supply debacle
AHA! Ok i see. I got mixed up on shopjimmy, I had searched via tv model number instead of the part number n the board and had seen a bunch of compatible parts etc. ONE of which I think might have worked... the 1290 (last 4) but theres no sense in chancing it or screwing around over 10 or 20 bucks. Thank you both for all your help. And Nick's Tvs, now I know what you meant by the e470vle using 3 different boards. I wasn't sure if you meant it was capable of using any of the three, or that dep on which e470vle it is it could have and need only...

Re: vizio e470vle power supply debacle
Does anyone know if you HAVE to replace the power supply with the same exact model as was in your particular tv? Or are there other compatible power supplies that will perform the same function if not better? Given the fact my supply failed, I'd like to hope there's a better option. Plus all it does is supply x amount of current to the main board and to i believe illumination or the backlight whichever or both lol. Thoughts?

Re: vizio e470vle power supply debacle
Yes ideed that is the exact board that I have. I'm wondering if other "compatible" boards are in fact compatible and if so then wouldnt it make sense to go with one that's more reliable? My board is sold out in a number of locations ive looked, which leads me to believe its probably a popular replacement part...yea? Anyway I'm not sure the DCV at that location you asked about on the primary side. I'm unfamiliar with what that is but more importantly, well i'm not sure to be honest at this point it seems foolish to try any further...

Re: vizio e470vle power supply debacle
woh i just reread my post from last night aaaand it looks like an autocorrect nightmare. Sorry bout that. Not sure i can edit it, dont see an option to do so. I was half asleep and frustrated I had lost the original message i was typing. to clarify, I had the board plugged in to check voltage, but had unscrewed it from the chasis, then went to unplug it and accidentally grounded one of the hot contacts on the bottom of the board by touching the chasis. Thankfully the board wasn't connected to the main board or anything else at that moment so...

vizio e470vle power supply debacle
Idk what happened I typed paragraphs and they all disappeared so give it another try... long story short i need a new power supply for my e470vle. I was troubleshooting the board and like the amateur I am hen it comes to the inner workings of components, After diagnosing the fact that there were zero volts coming off any of the pins at CN201 (where the harness plugs the wires into the supply that goes to the main board. at every single port I had zero volts. Then i checked every fuse, believe there re 12 on the pwr sup alone, and then the voltage coming in at the plug adapter, which ws a solid...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hey guys, my name is Sean. Nice to have found this forum. I'm somewhat savvy so to speak in terms of electronics. Put me on a car stereo system or home theater and I'm all over installation and tuning etc, of properly* functioning* components. Short of checking fuses and confirming power to a particular componenets etc, my diagnostic skills are somewhat lacking. I have however gained a fair amount of knowledge of circuit boards and their components over the past 32 hrs or so, with a LOT of youtube videos, my digital multimeter...
