Ok i will download that and see what happens. The 25q256 does show up in asprogrammer but i think the problem is that i made a backup of the bios with the wrong chip selected as i chose one that was 16mb so the dump i provided here is incomplete as it would be missing 16mb of data. Since then i have tried writing a few different BIOS files to this chip to see if they work. So i no longer have a backup of the original bios. I am not sure how to make a new one from the BIOS that is available for download at ASUS support. Is there any hope? i have not seen a single post anywhere for this particular...

One other question the BIOS chip is not listed in the list at all in asprogrammer so i chose a different chip and then read the firmware and posted it. The chip i used was 16mb and i think this BIOS is 32mb as previously stated. Would that throw off the dump if the incorrect chip size is not selected? I have successfully flashed many BIOS but i am not an expert by any means i am here to learn and do appreciate any and all help Not sure how to enter the chip manually into the programmer or what to do in a situation when the chip is not in the programmer list....

Ok there is only 2 chips on the motherboard that resemble BIOS chips one is a Winbond W25Q80DV which i will add the dump to this thread and the other is an MXIC MX77U25650FZ4142 and that is the chip i posted the dump for on the original post. I cannot find the schematic for this board online anywhere so i can only inspect the board under my microscope and look for chips resembling BIOS chips. I can post pictures of both sides of the board if that would be helpful. I am attacvhing the dump from the WINBOND chip to this post...

BIOS for Asus ROG G713PV
Hey guys looking for the Bios for an Asus ROG G713PV-DS94
Motherboard Number is g713p-mb-VGT 6050A3468901-MB-A01
Serial Number is R3NRKD03613412E
i am not sure if any additonal information is needed if so let me know and i can update this post. Things i have tried are to download the BIOS directly from Asus but that file is a .329 file and is 32MB as opposed to the 16MB file i need. Scoured high and low and cant find this darn BIOS anywhere! Much appreciated!!

Just out of curiosity on this particular model when looking at the motherboard there is like 4 or 5 winbond chips and a wson8 package - How do you determine which chip is the main bios for the computer? this model appears to have a bios for the usbc the dgpu and other things in addition to the main bios. I think on the schematic it is either UH4 or UH2 but im not sure which one is the right one to pull and flash. Thanks

Re: PS4 Launch Model Disk Drive Issue (disc drive no power won't accept discs)
Yes the drives are married to the console. If you take a bd drive over to a different PS4 you have to transfer over the daughter board as well. If you don't it will read but the games won't play.
So this drive does function in a different Ps4 but obviously doesn't read. I will post some pictures here in a sec

Re: PS4 Launch Model Disk Drive Issue (disc drive no power won't accept discs)
Can you be a little more specific? Measure the power on the BD drive where? The daughter board does have power. I am not in right now but I can tell you the voltages on each fuse if it is helpful.
Also the BD drive and daughter board do work normally on a different PS4. Obviously you can’t play a game but it will read and take the disc in etc. however once’s it goes back into the original PS4 it will not accept the discs again....Last edited by steveoski; 02-14-2019, 09:14 AM.

PS4 Launch Model Disk Drive Issue (disc drive no power won’t accept discs)
Hey guys, so I have a weird one. I have been working on PlayStation 4 since they come out. I have fixed almost everything that hasn't required BGA soldering. Just a little background.
Now this particular PS4 had a broken HDMI port. It was replaced and it works perfectly. Upon reassemble the disc drive stopped taking in discs. Now I have seen this before and it has ALWAYS been the BD drive daughter board or the BD drive itself. I first replaced the BD Daughter board to see if the drive would start accepting discs before I started soldering the chip over to a new donor board. Still...

Asus Boardview Questions
Hey guys i have a question in regards to the Asus boardview software. i am familiar with schematics and how to follow them somewhat and have used boardview in the past but in conjunction with a schematic and mainly just to locate a part I'm looking at on a schematic. I am currently messing with an Asus x551ca and i am pretty certain that a schematic does not exist just a boardview.
the unit has no voltage at the power button so i know for sure that i don't have my 3v. the dc jack is fine as i have tested that with a multimeter and can pretty much follow the voltage on many different...
