Re: Marshall Stanmore Repair
Greetings...I was looking around for a schematic for the Stanmore and came across your discussion. I should pop in more often . I usually park my brain in some other forums :-)
Anyway ,the unit I received for service did not have audio. Unit came on with LED ,etc. I found that U15, audio output IC was cooked. I replace the IC, however I still have no sound. All voltages appear to be good. I can see audio at U19 (in/outs) . I see audio going into U4, but nothing coming out, data or analog. There could be a micro/software issue not enabling this...

Re: Sharp LC65LE645U --entering service menu
Follow up --found service manual and indeed it is different! either " menu, 2,4,8,9 " for factory menu or "menu 4,3,9,8" for service menu...however, either one does not give you too much ...This must be a Walmart or BJ's model....

Re: What type of "Failure" does this look like?
With the symptom going the whole way across the display, you may possibly have a T-con failure. It's 50/50, but would be worth it to substitute a T-con to check. Usually if you have that same symptom in only a portion of the display, then it is 98% a display failure.

Sharp LC65LE645U --entering service menu
This particular model has an AmTran board and the service menu entry is different, I believe. Well, at least the usual methods of entry on a Sharp does not work. Has anybody else had the same issue with this model and what is the service menu procedure?

Re: 47ln5400 No Picture
If you're getting sound from a program/channel, then there is traceable video. Use a scope and check for video going into the T-con, and then from T-con to panel. If you have a good video signal, then you have a bad panel.
Also check for voltage on the T-con and/or open circuit board fuseLast edited by jabase; 06-17-2016, 09:14 AM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Being in the electronic repair business for over 25 years would eventually land me here. It was only a matter of time. With today's LCD/LED and plasma TV's troubleshooting has gotten a little more interesting and very challenging at times. Therefore, I have found that a collective of problem solving minds involved with locating and repairing some of these issues has been very helpful. While there are times that I am very busy and cannot contribute, there will be many times that I will help when I can. Hopefully, there will be...
