I have an Hp 600-1390. Recently, it won't boot suddenly.
I have tried to press the F11 key when starting up hoping that I can do the System Recovery. But the computer does not response to the F11 key.
I can go to the BIOS set by pressing the F10 key. The BIOS shows that the hard drive is disabled. I have tried to enable the hard drive, but finally the hard drive is still showing "DISABLED".
I have tried replacing the hard drive and the cable which connects the hard drive to the mainboard. But it still won't boot and I think the problem is not because...

Re: Need help on Electro Voice MT2500 Wireless Microphone
My radios can only receive but not transmit on that frequency which is 188.20Mhz.
But I am interested to know why via a dummy load. I have thought of if I have the radio which can transmit on that frequency, I will transmit to see how many LED will turn on. If more LEDs will turn on, then I think the problem is with the microphone. If still only 1 or 2 LEDs will turn on, then the problem is with the receiver....Last edited by tmho; 05-14-2018, 07:34 PM.

Re: Need help on Electro Voice MT2500 Wireless Microphone
There are a "audio adjust" and a "squelch adjust" at the back of the back of the receiver. I have tried adjusting them and they could not help.
I open up the receiver. There are several "controls" for adjustment. Will there be one can help on this?
(I have a multimeter and know how to use it to measure voltage and current.)

Re: Need help on Electro Voice MT2500 Wireless Microphone
Sorry, I do not have a second identical mic. Also, I do not have an oscilloscope. I even do not know how to use one.
I have a ham radio which can receive the signal from that microphone. The ham radio shows full scale signal strength no matter what the mic-level control is at. But the audio receive from the ham radio response properly to the mic-level control. Will that mean the microphone is working properly or not?...Last edited by tmho; 05-14-2018, 01:39 PM.

Re: Need help on Electro Voice MT2500 Wireless Microphone
Yes, when I look at that again, the red circle area is already with a green component with the marking of 3572. It is quite thin that made me thought that a component is missing and also thought that the marking 3572 is on the pcb....Last edited by tmho; 05-14-2018, 12:35 PM.

Need help on Electro Voice MT2500 Wireless Microphone
Recently, I got the Electro Voice MT2500 Wireless Microphone system. It consists of a receiver and a microphone.
According to the manual, there is a transmitter mic-level control on the microphone. And we should turn it up so that the audio level meter (consist of 10 leds) with 8 leds light up. I found that I only got 1 or 2 leds light up. Also, I have to turn the volume of the amplifier higher than normal to have enough audio output from the speakers. Therefore, I tried to turn up the mic-level control but I found that it is already on the maximum level. So I think that there may...Last edited by tmho; 05-14-2018, 01:27 AM.

Re: Harman Kardon PM655vxi problem
After about 10 days with no problem on the left or right channel, today I found the left channel with problem again. I was listening to songs using the AUX input while doing something on the computer. Suddenly, I found that it seemed no sound from the left speaker. I went to the left speaker and confirmed that there was no sound. Then I took out my multimeter and found the DC voltage at the left speaker was -36mV. But after less than a minute, sound was coming back from the left speaker.
Next time when I have time,...

Re: Onkyo tx-sr606 fluorescent display not working
I have one more question. There is a bigger cap (16V 10000uF) beside the defective 63V 470uF cap as per Jblues photo above. At the bottom of the bigger cap, there is some white stuff. In my case, there is also white stuff at the bottom of both caps. The white stuff seems came out from the caps. Does that mean the bigger cap is defective and should be replaced although the top of it does bulge out?Last edited by tmho; 03-31-2018, 04:16 PM.

Hi, I got the same receiver and the same capacitor with problem. But I do not know how to remove the ribbon cable from the connector so as to take out the PCB. That connector does not look like the press and pull type. Could jblues and madan1 please help?Re: Onkyo tx-sr606 fluorescent display not working

How to remove this ribbon cable?
I am trying to take out a PCB from a receiver (Onkyo tx-sr606) to replace a defective capacitor. But I need to remove a ribbon cable which is connected to it. I do not have experience in such connector. That connector should not be the "pressing down and pull out the cable". I am not sure how to remove it and I do not want to damage it. Therefore, I would be glad if someone can tell me the correct way to remove the ribbon cable from the connector.

Re: Harman Kardon PM655vxi problem
Thanks for the suggestion.
I have already done some resoldering on the above suspected cold solder joints. Now the amp has been closed and hooked up again. I will follow your suggestion when the problem happens again....
