OK, I'm now fairly certain that hard drive is bad and that's why it won't detect it. I decided to pull it and test the caps on the hard drive, and there appears to be 2 shorts. I'll update after I replace it. I'd try repairing it, but I wouldn't want to use it even if I could fix it, so I'm not going to waste my time. I plan on grabbing a Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter Card and using a regular NVME drive with Cantina.

OK, I wiped the $SVS area on that one you uploaded and flashed that, now there's no password again. It did the 4 digit pin, so PRAM reset 3x done, connect to internet and try to install the OS again, again no hard drive appears. I have no idea what to do now. lol
Edit: Tried Windows installer, same issue. Tried diskutil list, drive doesn't show up. I'm starting to think it's the drive itself, but alas, I don't have another to test with because the connector for the drive is weird, it's not a m key or b key. Could clearing the $SVS area make the hard drive no longer detectable??? Is...

Title says it all. got the bios cleared. I have the original dumps. Now I can't flash a OS cause it doesn't see the drive. I looked, found little. Any help? The drive is weird. It maybe encrypted but I have the OG bios dumps.

Asus g713pv bios
Bios chip is a Winbond 25r256jweq. I have a CH341A programmer and I've already pulled up pin 28 and attached it and pin 9 to 3.3v, and tested the voltages. I have the 1.8v hat for it, as well as a SOP8 clip, but the pins don't reach because the chip is a SMD no lead footprint. I've had 1 person tell me the replacement bios chip that can be had on eBay for $30 is only to remove the password, and that the original would have to be soldered back on afterwards. I'm not 100% comfortable soldering that chip off then on then off then back on again. I was trying to use the SOP8 clip to get a viable Bios...

Re: Hisense F42K20E HDMI inputs not detected
Doesn't get too warm. Actually might not be heating up at all and just getting residual heat from the trace connections. Don't have a spare board to pull one from, unfortunately. If the chip was in phones or computers I'd have some, but nope. Anyone else happen to have one?
Thank you very much. That will at least let me know which pins should have some sort of voltage and anything from 3v to 5v should be enough to trigger an IC. At least I can somewhat test it by tracking power in and out,...

Re: Hisense F42K20E HDMI inputs not detected
Any chance you know the voltages on the pins to check for? Then at least I'd know whether it's the IC or something before it. I was looking for that IC in the US and can't find it from anywhere but China, can't wait that long on the part....

Re: Hisense F42K20E HDMI inputs not detected
Found another image for it on SJ that's a little cleaner than mine. Again, I have voltage measurements on my uploads, which are of the exact board in question. Could it be the HDMI switch chip that all 3 HDMI ports are ran to? Is there any way to test it besides just replacing it, can't find what the voltages on the pins should be to test it? PS331 is the number on that chip....

Hisense F42K20E HDMI inputs not detected
Hisense F42K20E, no signal message from all HDMI inputs, been pulling my hair out over this one. I checked over the power supply board because I was originally told it wouldn't power on and stay on, no problems found though a couple of voltages seemed like they could be a hair out of range (18v measured 19v, LED voltage was 260v which seemed a little high to me). The brightness setting doesn't seem to change the LED level, and the large cap on that circuit gets pretty warm. Anyway, HDMI inputs display no signal found, can't seem to track down a problem with the main/input board. No caps look bad...Last edited by blazie151; 08-23-2016, 05:54 PM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
New guy needing help with a TV here. Blasted thing has me pulling my hair out. Main board no HDMI signal detected. Will be posting the in the TV and video sources section shortly. Been reading this forum for years now but never had a problem I needed to ask questions about, lol.
