Tw2005, have you ever sourced ic's bd8693fvm? I have managed to source most components through Farnells and Rs but can only find chineses suppliers for these.

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Thanks tw, the extract was helpful. Drivers seem ok, though Q501 and Q521 seem suspect to me. Will double check tomorrow when not so tired. You posted a link on testing them somewhere can't find it at the present. Can you tell me what diode you use to replace DAF30A, (DA3DF30A)? Can only find Chinese suppliers, same with the drivers BD8693. Thanks.

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Yes I take your point especially regarding the Chinese components, though I thought the UK ones would have been ok. I will wait for the alternate parts to arrive. I have spent a lot of time reading various posts on here and am wondering whether I should replace the drivers (BD8693) and corresponding transistors (CPH5524). I looked at a schematic and it looks as though I would need to replace 3. The transistors can be bought through rs but I can't find a local supplier for the drivers, only Chinese suppliers. Do you know of a supplier and...

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Thought I would fit the Chinese components to the sc boards and run some tests, whilst I wait for delivery from Rs components. No short found at sc2. No short found at q102 on the ss board. Fitted sc board and isolated both Su an sd boards. Fitted jumper, connected sc2 and sc20. Powered up, now showing 8 blinks. Checked s2 again. Open cct in one direction 320ohms in the other. Direct short between pin 3 on sc2 and ground and open between pin 1 and ground. Any Ideas?

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Just a further note, when the tv originally failed, I mentioned I heard a loud pop noise before it went into the 7 blink fault mode. I expected that I would see an obvious sign of a failed component, cap etc. Thoughts?

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Will do, will order them today and see how it goes. What method do you use for fitting to to the board? I have seen a number of recommendations from using solder paste and heat pencil to soldering iron on the tab till solder melts. Either method creates a lot of heat to the component. The legs are the easy part....

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Yes correct, quick rundown. TV made a pop sound then went into 7 blink mode. Tested sc board, direct short at sc2 connector. Sd and Su boards tested ok. Ordered repair kit and replaced q401, 402,403,421,422,423. D401 & 421. Q531 & ic502. No short found at sc2. Refitted board and instantly failed. Showing direct short at sc2 again. And 7 blink mode.

Thanks, yes I would like to see if it I can repair prior to replacing. This started with a pop noise coming from the TV followed by the seven blink code. No obvious sign of failure on any of the boards other than finding a direct short at Sc2. In relation to the ss board, is there a quick method to test it for a fault?

Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs
Hi, I am having issues with a panasonic tnpa5335 sc board and hoping for some advice. I ordered a repair kit from the UK as well as replacement components from China. I fitted the UK kit, and with no short across SC2 I powered it up. Board failed immediately and after investigation found Q401 (30f131) had a direct short. I replaced Q401 and board failed again. SD and SU boards test ok. Any ideas as to where to next?
