ASUS Chromebook C523N not charging
I have an ASUS Chromebook C523N in for repair thats not drawing much current from the USB-C port which is stuck at 5V
The port itself looks ok and I suspect the Slimport ANX3429 USB-C power controller
I have verified that the laptop works by disconnecting the battery and injecting voltage at the battery connector
The issue is that I cannot find a datasheet for this device anywhere including the chip manufacturer !
I'm hoping that someone here may have a datasheet or even a schematic of any laptop that uses this chip so I can get an idea what the pins... -

thanks for the offer but the customer came in and doesnt want to spend any money fixing it so I returned the laptop

Hi, I have a Lenovo X260 in from a customer with a black screen with 5 short beeps
Am I right in thinking that this is a failed bios update and is it possible to recover from this with a bios dump ?

I repair laptops for a living, mostly liquid damaged components
sometimes one will come in for a fresh windows/osx installation with a bios password/efi lock and its very rare that the customer will remember what they setup (annoying)
for the windows machines I use a java-script master password generator that handles most brands of laptop including dell but doesn't handle 8FC8 and two others

in task manager performance the cpu under load is showing 2.79GHz

Sorry I didnt read your reply before going ahead
I did use one of the unlocked files from this forum and replaced the me region with the one I saved from my locked bios
crossed my fingers and switched on the laptop
fan was spinning fast with a black screen, after around 1 min ? the laptop rebooted and I was able to enter the bios
the first thing it asked was for me to enter the service tag which I did
after this I restored bios defaults and rebooted

convert ipsw to bin for flashing ?
is there a tool or a manual way to convert firmware downloaded as ipsw for a macbook into a 1 piece bin file that i can flash with my tl866 programmer ?
the ipsw archive file seems to contain a lot of files

hi guys
i have a toshiba z30-a which is bios password locked
i saved a backup using tl866 minipro
reflashed another dump but laptop dead black screen
reflashed again with my backup and laptop is working again and asking for password which is good news
can anyone unlock this ?

I have an MSI z370 motherboard that has had a damaged ddr4 inserted causing a component to fry on the motherboard
Does anyone here know what it is ? so I can replace it

this machine originally had bios password, I reflashed a new bios and everything was ok but after a few months I get this error ?
I will install windows and try the hp bios update
