Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Exactly the same, I have 5 volts as I plug it but afterwards the voltage decreases I guess that's because of the capacitors.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Yes, probably I made a mistake with the scope. The IC produce output fir a little time but then it stops and doesn't work.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Already done, as I said in #22 and #24 I checked and it works ok.
Apart fron the fact that it was not shorted I made a external circuit to test it with good results....Last edited by NoN4me; 06-06-2017, 03:51 PM.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Hello again, good news, or maybe not. Y have checked again, and as I said when I plug in the power supply I can't see nothing in the scope related to the Drain pin... but I really have 5 volts in +5V in the secondary side for arround half a second.
I'm still confused, I hope this new info helps.
Thank you one more time for all the help and the advice given up until now.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
R903 is ok, C905 replaced and nothing changed.
The transformer values are:
Pins 7-5: 0.8 Ohm
Pins 9-10: 0.5 ohm
Pins 1,2 - 3,4: 0.1 Ohm

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
So, to sumarize, I have cheked: D901, D903, D902, Q901(not shorted), ZD901, ZD902 and ZD906 (not shorted), ZD903 (behaviour checked), PC901, D950, R905, R915, R914, R902, R901.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
At first I supoussed that there was an issue in primary so I cheked every compoment surrounding DDA010 (resistors capacitors diodes an even the transistor) then I checked there wasn't no shorts at secondary that can stop DDA010 from switching. After that I replaced DDA010, but nothing changed and then I came here and I followed al your recomendations.Last edited by NoN4me; 06-04-2017, 06:30 PM.

Ok, I have checked the OPTO, it works OK.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Yes, at least it's not shorted. But when I arrive home I could desolder it and make a circuit to check it's behaviour
In case of a faulty OPTO souldn't the drain pin starts swiching and stops suddenly after a little bit time?

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Ok, that way, with the pin soldered I measure near 5 volts, same as I currently have at FB pin of DDA010....

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Well, I have to say thay in this case when I measure FPO with the scope I obtain a flat line in 0 volts but when I measure with a multimeter I obtain 5 volts. (I desoldered FPO pin to measure it)Last edited by NoN4me; 06-02-2017, 05:41 PM.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Of course, I know, but I don't have an isolation transformer, I don't usually measure live areas.

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
I have attached a screenshot of the drain pin.
Those components that you mentioned are OK.
About isolation I'm not using any of them, just being very careful avoiding touch the ground of the scope.
Yes, current sensing reistors are OK and D950 is also OK.
I have atached a screenshot of the input pin of the IC902 as well as a screenshot of the behaviour of the drain pin when I apply AC to board.
D950 is also OK....

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Here you are the measures at the diferent points commented before.
B+, FB pin, IC Vcc (in this order)....

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
5 volts in FB pin
I put the aligator clip of the scope in the negative pin of the main capacitor....

Re: Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Yes, 320 volts
The pwm is that DDA010, isn't it? I have replaced it already. Nothing hapened....

Power suply doesn't work (DPS-214CP)
Hello,
I've got a TV wich power supply is a DPS-214CP (schematic attached), and the thing is that it doesn't power on. I dont even get stand by power.
IC901 (DDA010) has an VCC Votage between 10 and 18 Volts in a triangle wave. It's said in the IC901 datasheet that IC starts up when vcc reachs 18 volts, but in my case Drain pin never starts switching.
I have checked diodes resistors and caps but I can't find the problem.
Can anybody lend a hand?
Thank you in advance....Last edited by NoN4me; 06-01-2017, 04:05 PM.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello everybody,
I'm new here! I'm trying to fix a SMPS and I hope I'll do it with your help!!
I'm from Spain so, sorry for my english.
