Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
If you are getting an all white screen, I suggest rechecking the cable connections. It is easy to miss one or not have it fully plugged in.
If that doesn't work, post back and we will try to get the Ilyama working again.[/QUOTE]
Hello again
Just an update I have not had the chance to do anymore to the xerox and have found the problem on the Ilyama, one of the connection tapes (They are a laminated celloloid type material with wires embedded) that I would normally remove...

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Hello,It was my own fault,,I found it was quite easy to remove the casings holding the ccfl's... there are two 1 top 1 bottom as you might see in previous images I think the lamps were brittle and I never seated them properly in the groove where they reside? It was the gap between the 'u' section that seemed to tight and in frustration I thumped it with my palm!!! bad move..so its my fault..I will try again when I have the lamps...
I thought as much, but I lost the plot, when I broke...

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Hello
I have the ccfl's already detatched from the xerox as separate units? So no problem by putting the two screens together
I hope that makes sense
I will just unplug the Illyama leads and plug in the xerox ccfl's with a quick safety switch on/off and see what happens?

We have had all good weather up till now,So that's where the expression come from I suppose " It never rains until it pours"
A question? What would possibly happen If I reassemble all the bits (there everywhere at the moment) Just with 2 tubes or 3 tubes Just a thought...
A voltage overload...

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Hello
I have taken your advice and followed your instructions. I have uploaded a picture of the results of the 4 CCFL's. They all stay on for over 5 mins and so I ended the test. One of the ccfl was 15% pink at the end but still worked for the 5 min's as the other 85% was bright white as the other 3 (4 x 2mm x 475mm) So it may not be this that's causing my 2 second problem?
I have had the chance to re-photograph (in focus) the power board and also uploaded those images. The transistors/mosfets?...

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Hello retiredcaps
As I said to Rtech,I have a new monitor here, the same size 22". I also have a few lcd screens, all working. Would a 17" ilyana be okay to check it on?
I have read that post on #5 and understand the safety rules! regarding the HV
Are all CCFL's the same re-voltage? meaning would it hurt to hook up a 480mm ccfl to a 17" screen or is that irrelevant
I Need to read up more on this

Re: 2 second to black on xerox XM3-22wB I need help please
Hello Rtech
I can see the pitfalls of this sort of repair, I have OCD which makes me want to carry through what I have started.. It's either all or nothing..I understand what you mean about the tedium, Then to me I tend to thrive on it, Just to get it right or in my younger days I would kick it all up in the air and walk away ha!
I cant do that now? (Tongue in cheek) on the other hand I have purchased a new LG W2243S 22" LCD MONITOR, FULL HD, 5MS £89 jobby from fleabay so I can...

I will have a look on utube meanwhile to take more of it in.
Once again, many thanks

Actually it was a long time dying I would leave my pc running for 20-24 hrs a day and when going to bed turn off monitor. This model also has two VGA input's and I hooked up 2 machines to it, a laptop and a pc.I then would switch between machines using the switch designed for this.
The details are
January 2007. manufacture date on back plastic cover
printed on power board is:
