Damage to U2 - Pin 4...

G'day all from a first time poster.

I've got a Manson HCS-3402 here that has been playing up, and then today failed.

On start up it used to go through all the self tests OK, run for 30 seconds then power down. Yesterday, it ran through the self tests OK, then displayed ERR on the front panel.

Today I powered it up, and got nothing. I tried again in preset mode, and it powered up, ran for about 60 seconds, then vented smoke. On the primary side, U2, Pin 4 looks more like a failed fusible link with D5 also looking quite sad. Mains fuse (as expected) also blown....

Defence trained in the RAAF in avionics, then worked as a tech for Ansett Airlines, then 10 years in high power RF Broadcasting, and now more studio work - oh, and still fixing stuff at home.

Dabble in most things. Soldering iron never too far away, but nowadays neither are the glasses.
