Hi everyone,
I need your help with repairing this Macbook Pro. The fault is that the laptop does not power on. there are different current draw from the various USB ports.
It is worth mentioning that there is no liquid on the board after a visual inspection. below you can see all readings and info after some diagnostic.
There are also some thermal images uploaded in the thread.
What should I do next? any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

It still doesn't power on after the removal of the shorted chip I will hopefully get my new DC IN board tomorrow so I can test with a working one, if that does not solve the problem I don't know where to look else...

I found out that PP3V3_S4_TBT was shorted after checking a few caps (C2950, C2951, C2952, C2953, C2954) it turned out that it was related to the thunderbolt chip and my thermal camera confirmed that the chip heats up.
Now to another problem... I cannot find a replacement chip, so does anyone know where to order a new chip?

Thanks for answering, The SSD warms up, the USB lights up, and all readings except those in the photo are normal.
I'm just curious why the sysone wire and adapter sense are the same reading, are adapter sense generating sysone wire to SMC?
I guess I will try to order a dcin board, that was my next idea; I just wanted someone's confirmation.

MacBook pro A1502 - No power Need help
I have a MacBook Pro A1502 with no power.
180-200mA without battery, 1500mA with battery, and orange light on the charger.
Short facts:
*USB with LED lights up.
*No fan spin.
*Adapter sense and sys_onewire is ”only” 2.861V.
I checked the DC board as well and the adapter sense is 2.861 V, I'm not sure if it's too low
That's why I'm asking you guys for help.

Re: MacBook Pro A2159 - No power
Hi again, after some research i found out that, there is no missing chip.. there should not be a chip there on this board, only if there is 4 Nand chips.
the fun part is that I already ordered a new chip haha..
So I guess its because of the ELC180 that lights up on thermal camera that is the problem here, and of course the burned component L5100.
Do you know if there is a similar component that I can use from my donor boards?
I got a A1466 and a A1932.
Thanks in advance.

Re: MacBook Pro A2159 - No power
Hi again,
Please take a look at the image in the link, if you don't want to open it PM me with your email and I will send it there.
It looked like this, the scratches and a lot of components are missing if it's like you said, there should be a chip.
the part you asked me to inject voltage to is also missing if you look at the image....

Re: MacBook Pro A2159 - No power
Just to clarify, the chip was not present on the board at all when I got the laptop, obviously, someone worked on it before.

Re: MacBook Pro A2159 - No power
Hi and thanks for your reply.
It does not look like it was cleaned, lots of dust on the board.
I connected the laptop to my own Macbook and tried to get it in DFU mode.
It appeared in Apple configurator 2 but a few seconds later the DFU icon disappeared.
Where shall I inject the Voltage, and which line/component?
0.9V and how much A? shall I inject it without the u9000 installed or do you recommend that i order a new chip and install it and then test inject voltage?

MacBook Pro A2159 - No power
Hi everyone, I really need your help with a repair case.
I got a Macbook Pro A2159 820-01598
and the problem is that it does not power on. USB meter reading 5V 0.40-70A
Visual inspection:
L5100 - Burned / 0402 - 1.2UH-20%-0.12A-1.17OHM
(Removed) didn't solve the problem. Could it be fixed temporarily with a jumper wire?
U9000 - Missing Chip on board / 338S00410-A0
I don't know if there should be empty or not, but it does look
Like it was removed.

MacBook Pro M1 (A2338) Help with identify caps etc.
Hi,
I recently got my hands on a water damaged MacBook Pro M1 A2338, and after cleaning the board in a ultra sonic cleaner I tried to boot it up but found a short on CL002 and removed it along with the surrounding parts:CL002, CL053, CL052, CL031.
The laptop is working without the parts it seems but I guess its better to install new/used components, the problem Is that i only have a few MacBook Air A1466 and iPhone Boards to salvage parts from and I cannot find a good replacement for CL031.
So I would really appreciate if someone could help me out....
