Hello to the forum!
I am currently troubleshooting the Dell U2718Q monitor, which will work perfectly until it randomly shuts down and after a number of minutes will power on and work again, until it randomly (but quicker) shuts down again.
After some investigating i came to the conclusion that this is due to the Mstar MST9U37Q1 controller overheating, causing the monitor to shut down. When the controller is cool enough it will start working again. The power supply voltages at all times seem normal, nothing else feels hot on the board and by using a hair drier to...

Re: Dell 2407WFPb Monitor - Bad Cap
Hello again! You are right, i shouldn't post here in the first place, however most people posted here and also for the 2405 in page 8, so i thought that it would be better that stuffing another thread in the forum.
BUT, i know have a good reason, i managed to start the monitor with 2 DC/DC converters! The problem is that 2405 requires more voltage on the 5v line than the 2407 so i need to do is find a bigger DC/DC or use 2 in parallel and post results.
I am so happy that i managed to start it though

Re: Dell 2407WFPb Monitor - Bad Cap
I did the Power supply Bridge from page 8. The power supplies look almost identical. As for the logic board they seem to be a little bit different. The only one i am 100% of is the Panel connector, i get 5V there....

Re: Dell 2407WFPb Monitor - Bad Cap
Hello! I have a question :
I have the 2405fpw, the 120uf 450v died, the classic things happened blah blah. Now:
If i do the audio out jack mod, are the IC601 and 651 required? They were both shorted and i removed them. I had to do also a buck converter bypass in the logic board (Since it failed and the D19 resistor had blown, i found it easier just to replace it with a DC/DC converter) Now i get 5V in the Logic board L1 without any shorts, however the monitor still dead. I tried to trace where the 5V goes, but i couldn't...

Re: Nec Syncmaster LCD73v 2 second backlight
Mine LCD uses 4 lamps (2 up, 2 down) with 4 different connectors (one for each lamp. The problem is that it requires all 4 of them to be connected in order to work. So either i have to change the 2 down lamps, or put a big resistor at the dead lamps connector and use it that way. Anybody know if it is possible?Last edited by AquaSonic; 05-05-2012, 03:10 AM.

Nec Syncmaster LCD73v 2 second backlight
Hello, i am having trouble with the LCD mention in the title. As it turned out, the one of the 2 upper ccfls was broken (didn't happen in my lab so i am fine, and the place it was placed originaly is a large room with EXCELLENT ventilation so no harm from that -i hope so-).
The problem now is that i don't know what type of ccfls this lcd take, and the only one i can find is this: http://www.ccflwarehouse.com/17ccdulaasfo1.html
These cost 32bucks, but the shipping costs to Greece will be legend-wait for it-dary! The other 3 bulbs are fine, so i only need to replace...Last edited by AquaSonic; 05-03-2012, 04:19 AM.

Re: Acer Aspire 5220 - heatsink = JUNK!
Actually the problem is 50/50 from Nvidia and laptop manufacturers. The solder used in the lead-free crap, which replaced the old good lead solder. The good thing with the new one is that is more environmentally friendly and for us healthier. BUT, the early produces of it weren't exactly perfect. Under heavy temperature changes (e.g 3d games etc) the materials contained which are contained in the solder don't expand and constrict (i hope this is the right translation, i'm greek :P) the same time, so after a while cracks appear...

Re: APC Back-ups RS 1500 Dead
Hi again. No toasty, nothing at all. There is a fan but it is completly dead.
I forgot to tell you that i am using the 220v version of it (i don't know if it makes any difference in the A/C part).
Do you have this ups? Can i give you some pictures to ask you to measure the current there?
The white Rely (at the A/C part next to the 2 black ones) is the component i can't understand whether it is good or not. Here is its datasheet http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/308868/OENINDIA/68-24-2CE.html...Last edited by AquaSonic; 12-21-2010, 06:36 PM.

Re: APC Back-ups RS 1500 Dead
The fuse is fine and the capacitor measures ~300v

Re: APC Back-ups RS 1500 Dead
Hello again! I read the manual and did everything as mentioned. The ups still does nothing. It won't get into programming mode. I have tried it many times but nothing happens. The circuit breaker is ok so is the ribbon cable. As for the charging circuit, it's working ok too.

APC Back-ups RS 1500 Dead
Hello to all! I just got the ups shown in the title, with dead batteries. To test it, i put a volt meter and saw that it can charge batteries with no problem (gives 27v), so i bought two identical CSB batteries and waited. The batteries have gone up to 28.8V (normal value), however the ups is completly dead. Caps do not show any sign of damage nor the rest board. Without the battery it won't even buzz as it mentions in its manual.
Any suggestions on where to begin? Ty!
