I have a Compaq board, made by Microstar MS-6577, HP 5187-5628. The power supply went out. I replace that and it was still slow as molasses in January. Sure enough 2 leaking and several tipped capacitors. Will see about recapping. A whole raft of capacitors, some funny sizes. Can anyone tell me if a G-Luxon capacitor is any good? How about KZE?

I just discovered this thread and the information about the settlement today, Nov. 17, 2006. :-(. The abit settlement site closed at the beginning of November. :-( :-(
I have a KT7-RAID board that I have been using for 4-5 years. I emailed Abit today asking what options I had in light of the settlement. Will see what they have to say.
Am actually prepared to recap it myself as electronics has been a hobby for years and working in the field some for a while.

What a wonderful service to the hardware community. I was sent here by someone helping me with some HD RAID problems. Sure enough, I have some swelling and leaking caps on my MOB

Could I please ask a new question re. "good" caps. I would like to recap my Abit KT7 MOB. I have aquired Panasonic/Matsushita FC series caps. Are these acceptable for the job, or did I miss something with all the different series of the all the different caps? :-(
