  • PS5 EDM-020 CFI-1116A Disc Edition - 1 Beep No Power/Light

Hi there, I have an EDM-020 CFI-1116A Disc Edition PS5. It originally had the 3 beeps on power which after grabbing a known working BIOS for this board and model it now will beep once every 20 seconds hitting the power button but will not turn on.

So far I have checked all voltage rails and everything seems to be present from 12v all the way down to 0.8v rails. However I am unable to connect to and read the UART and get error codes. Also something I found in my measurements is the bank of coils for the APU read 0.3ohms. Now I know that CPU/GPU lines have low resistance but I'm not...

  • MacBook Air 13" 2020 A2179 Audio Board

Hey all! I have a MacBook Air 13" 2020 A2179 that won't switch on with the audio board connected so before just replacing it outright I took a quick look and found a cracked cap and short. Removed the cap and the short has gone so want to replace the cap to see if we can use this audio board still.

TL;DR Anyone know the value of the cap circled in red in the attached picture?...

  • The 2N chip does not get warm, there isn't really any sign of heat anywhere with the charger plugged in. I do have a particularly low reading on a 3VA_EC (<1k) on the SIO. Is it likely that the SIO may have taken some amount of spike when liquid was on the 2N chip and that is what has gone.

When I get chance I think it's safe to inject 1v onto that 3VA rail and see what current draw if any.

  • Ok thanks for the clarification, wasn't sure if I was missing something with LDO3. That rail isn't shorted directly to ground however it is possibly being strange as it reads ~75k when I first put my probe on the pin and then takes about 10 seconds where it tops out at ~220k. I swapped the IC to a new one just in case the original one that got hit with liquid went bad however it's the same result.

  • Asus X409DL Rev 2.0

    Hey all,

I've got an ASUS laptop (Asus X409DL Rev 2.0) that had a little liquid spill on it however the majority was on the daughter board for the I/O stuff which is connected over a ribbon cable which I have disconnected for now. A small bit of liquid did however get onto what schematics and boardview show is a DC step down IC; a Realtek RT8249CQGW - markings: 2N=. There is no short on the main power rail as I have 19v with the charger plugged in however I have no other power, standby or always on rails anywhere on the board. Looking at the datasheet for this IC I want to sanity...

  • Thanks for the information you guys. This actually helped me alot. Especially the fact when it comes to the 5v and 3v rails on newer boards not being present on standby.

I had a full post ready about how my charging IC was an ISL88379B and couldn't find the datasheet for pins but had a diagram and I had my 19v present and the main DCin with 19v and 25v boosted gate etc.

However in the end it all came back to my visual inspection being bad. The RAM slot on this model we've had loose pins that weren't soldered properly before but this was not the case this time. Upon getting...

  • HP Pavilion 14-ce3511sa G7AL-2G DAG7ALMB8C0 REV: C

Hey there, I've got a HP laptop that is not powering on however the charger light is white and present however the 3v and 5v rails are not present as both IC's are missing their S5_ON enable signal. I was looking at a similar schematic and I see it comes from the IT5570E-128 chip (the one in the schematic is an IT8987 but I assume pin layout is similar enough?)

Some voltages I've measured as I'm not entirely sure what allows this chip to enable the S5_ON signal but VCC is at least missing.

    VCC - 0v
    3VPCU - 3.351v
    V_ECACC - 3.351v
    3V_VSTBY - 3.351v...

  • I have a strange issue with a UX363EA version of this laptop. On the original BIOS I get 2 blinks of a white light on the battery indicator over and over and it won't turn on. Did an ME clean but same result. However I downloaded the BIOS from this thread and it boots to BIOS however it cannot detect any SSD's. I'm confused at what is going on with this and I've included the original BIOS if anyone has any hints or suggestions.

  • Re: I need the HP zbook 17 g5 DUMP BIOS, thank you.

Ok it's stuck on the BIOS screen again and no further, can get "Entering Setup..." hitting F10 but it never gets further than that.

I think it may have restored the previous one from the EC? Is this a thing with Sure Start models?

EDIT: Little lookup on HP's website it says it keeps a copy in the HP Endpoint Security Controller which I think has restored some of the bad parts, is there anyway I can update this controller to prevent this data mismatch?

  • HP Zbook 17 G5 BIOS ME Clean

Has anyone got the firmware version 12.0.93.2331_COR_H_BA_PRD_EXTR-Y

I was going to clean the ME myself but I can't seem to find this version. I only have to 12.0.92.2145.

I've included my BIOS dump as well....

I have a faulty SlimPort ANX7447 I need to replace however I only have a SlimPort ANX3429. I cannot find datasheets for these 2 chips but I'm wondering if they're compatible? Same physical layout but I don't know if the pinout is the same

  • Re: Xbox One Original missing 12v enable signal

The mosfets around the CPU were the first thing I checked and the diode readings all read the same as a working board so I don't think injecting voltage is going to reveal anything.

I think I might try replacing either U9F3 or U9C2 (or both) and see if that helps. I don't have a schematic or boardview for this specific board so I'm not sure where to find the PWRGOOD signals to check

  • Re: Xbox One Original missing 12v enable signal

Update on this, it's not a dead SMC, if i hit the power button enough times I get a spike of 12v on the 12v rail but only for about half a second before it falls back to about 0.6v/0.5v and drains down for a second or 2 before dropping to ~200-300mV. I'm trying to figure out why it gets brought back down. With the speaker plugged in I get the power on sound and sometimes tapping away fast enough also the power down, but most times just the power on sound.

If anyone can share insight on how the 12v enable signal functions,...

  • Xbox One Original missing 12v enable signal

Hi there, I have an Xbox One original in which I have all the 1.8v, 3.3v and 5.0v standby power rails present, however my 12v rail is not turning on and the enable signal PSU_V12P0_EN from the SMC to turn the power supply on is missing. There is high resistance on this line so it's not shorted directly to ground which leaves me with not many options.

Was looking at a schematic and see the enable is created by the SMC. I have 3.3v on SMC_RST_N_IN but I'm a little stuck on where to look next. Is it likely that the SMC has gone bad or am I missing something else (it's my first time with...

  • Xbox One S Identify component

I have an Xbox One S that beeps to turn on but immediately turns off, I have all the power rails present but on visual inspection I found this broken cap behind the Ethernet port.

Unfortunately I do not have a donor board at hand. Can anyone help me identify the value of this component? C4B6 - Would highly appreciate it....
