Apple M1 macbook air upgrade (memory, SSD)

Okay I have 2x macbook air M1's one stock 8gb 256gb 100% and the other 16gb 1tb lets call it dead but chips are 100% okay.

now from my google fu it is possible to just swap

I am looking for a conformation regarding this

so has anyone attemped or succeeded in this swap?
