Hello Everyone,
got a 15G6 - what a beast in today - sadly BIOS-PWd. Had no Luck with manual removing it nor with the unlocker tool. Maybe someone want to have a look at it and can help me out.
I found the usercred in the typical location but at reboot it seems to restore the settings. Intel ME is @ Version 12.0.45.1509 PMC is @ 300.2.11.1020 - maybe the put in an anti tamper protection?...

Hi, got another 840G3 where the HPUnlocker is not working. Guess the location is again stored in two different places. @RethoricalCheese - do you mind posting the clean vss-section as file, so i could put them in via HxD? Image original and unlocked is attached
@RethoricalCheese - got it working i used the userCred section from the previous one you patched for me. If you look at both files, there is a section with alot of numbers in UserCred, you unlocker did not remove those. As i removed this section via HxD it worked. Thank you - it worked. But I also got the
"0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable"
Errors there, after 5 Minutes of waiting it worked, still dont know what I was doing wrong with the patching maybe the patched lenovotranslate should be the one from the 3-file-package, not the single posted one......Leave a comment:

Hi there, after my request for the cleaning of a Yoga360 in an extra Post was fullfilled, I found this Thread. I wanted to try this process by myself with an T570. I compiled all the data i found in this thread and created a patched dump. Here is what I did:
- exchanged the xxxtranslate and bootxxx in UEFI-Tool with the patched xxxtranslation (posted as patched single file)and the bootxxx from the 3-file-package.

With the 866iiPlus i could dump the BIOS, your unlocker has worked with all three of the zbook 15G5
The HotAir soldering from this WSON is one of a kind, i burned the first eeprom, had to buy a spare one. After 3-4 tries I kinda got a feeling for the WSONs. Soldering Paste and a steady hand lead to success. Thank you again for the unlocker tool...Leave a comment:

ok, I dont get to the point where I can enter the BiosPW nor the ID again, so I guess i f´ed this up
- I reflashed original bios back, and it works - even if I entered the wrong stuff *facepalm* guess its my lucky day *nervous-laughter*

Thank you for the quick response.
Flash was succsefully but the following occures:
- Bad CRC (ok, should be done after setting up time-date etc in bios)
- It booted still with a Password, i entered admin1 as a Test, the following screen showed me Hardware ID: 2151605481 - i entered 1234 as key.
- It resetted TPM stuff, rebooted. Stilll showing CRC-Error, and if I want to enter setup it only shows me "Entering Setup.." with the dots "..." progressing from 1Dot to 5Dots and nothing more.

Lenovo Yoga370 password
Hi all,
got an Lenovo Yoga 370 with BiosPW - anyway I can remove this? I saw a company providing kind of a "Master"-Bios where you have to provide a generated Code to unlock the bios in the final step.
Dont know if there is another way around this. The dump is attached and checked 3x with diff (no errors). The eerprom is a W25Q128
Any Help is realy appreciated

Sorry, the dump is only FF´ed trough the whole area, i think I blew the eeprom while inserting it into the reader (never change the prom while still connected to usb... )
So I would need a complete cleanME unlocked dump for this machine - MB reads 6070bxxxxxx instead of the 6050xxxx type.. any help appreciated (I cannot even get the prom to read anymore, i ordered a empty one already)Leave a comment:

840G3 Bios request
Hi All,
in the process of trying to remove the Bios-PW from an 840G3 I somehow F´d up and got a bad Dump. Leaving me with a broken state (power led just flickering or reboot loop with high fan speed and reboot).
I already tried differnt dumps found in this forum, no luck.
It looks like those are for the 6050xxx type Mainboard. Mine is a 6070B0883301-A02. If anyone got a clean Main-BIOS dump (16MB) and maybe the EC dump (~8MB) i would be very thankfull if someone could upload it for me to test. -

For the other 2 840G3 machines that are not working, i tried several dumps from other topics, cleared and non cleared - all show same symptoms (blackscreen, fan full speed, reboot or just powerOn-powerOff loop).
I even tried the one with EC dump and MainBios dump (so that SerialNumber matches). No Luck, all show the same behavior.
I also tried to lookup the VSS Area via UEFI-Tool and HxD. Could not find the usual $VSS region in anyone of these dumps. Did HP change their approach in locking...Leave a comment:

zbook15g5 got an MX25L25673 32mb eeprom - cant read that with pi nor with the tl866cs - ordered the tl866 ii plus - its listed in there.
tested with 5 different 840g3 - 2 working, one blackscreen, one only blinks one dosnt remove the passwort. Cant get the other 2 with blackscreen and blinking shift key to work again
- any clean dumps out there i can try my luck with?

Microsoft Surface 3 - missing Serial
Hi all,
long time lurker here. Got an Surface3 Tablet into the workshop with missing/wrong serial number. instead of a 12Digets for the Serial as on the basecover, the Serial inside the Mainboard is saved as "OEM". I cannot get any Surface Software running since the installation always checks for an correct Model-code/Serial.
Is there any software that can change the Serial (got something similiar for Lenovo/Fujitsu/Dell but missing the one for surfaces).

- could your methos also work on an missing Serial-Number in a Surface3 (not PRO) - only listed Serialnumber is OEM - not any number. Surface Software is not working since it isnt regognizing the Device as an Surface...Leave a comment:

no problem here - thanks a lot for the unlocker.exe - had some bios dumps in the past with manual VSS editing via hxd - thx to you the routine is much faster now. Gonna try it on some 840g3 this week after i figured the best way to read the chip without desoldering it (standard soic8 clip is not fitting since they use 8-WSON Package here for the eeprom)...Leave a comment:
