After further investigation, I found that it's sufficient to place a 120 kΩ resistor between the IdSignal and 19.5V, and a 65 kΩ resistor between Id and Ground. Additionally, the cable should be as close to the original as possible, as the ZBook G3 performs both a current discharge test and an impedance test when the power adapter is connected.

Lenovo power adapter adaptation for HP?
Hi! I have Lenovo laptop power adapter, 20v 6.7a and lowered voltage to 19.56v already to fit it HP requirements, but now I want to know how deal with ID pin?
Already tested 182, 180 kom combination, but laptop AC led blinking only. So last was to set resistance between 19.5+ and id pin, plus 100 nf 100v capacitor to gnd. But still won't recognized the adapter.
Any ideas?
Thanks!1 Photo

Re: Macbook Air A1370 820-3024 CPU init and VCore missing
Finally: desolder coil on cpu power rail, and all voltages appears. Buck was switching to overload protection. After coil was removed, the cpu rail showed 15 ohm resistance, when hot=9.8 ohm to ground, while the donor board with same cpu has 27 ohm.
Solution: cpu replacement. On Apple devices that is extremely hard, because of missing marking and a lot of compound on cpU.

Re: Macbook Air A1370 820-3024 CPU init and VCore missing
I have compared MAX probing with one of a donor boards, and here are the results:
it seems, like MAX isn`t actually talking to CPU to powerON it. it will set 1.2v right after it will be enabled and only 2-4 seconds, it will set cpu voltages to levels are needed. But on Macbook Air A1370 this voltages are missing. So rather MAX is need to be replaced, or something isnt enabling Max controllerRe: Macbook Air A1370 820-3024 CPU init and VCore missing

Macbook Air A1370 820-3024 CPU init and VCore missing
All voltages are okay, even a thunderbolt boost is reacting on power request by cortex. Spi rom is read by pch, All_system_is_okay (mean the signal 3.3v by smc is present). But CPU won't request voltage from Max buck converter to power up VCore voltages to start the CPU. CPU and pch is getting warm. So there is no SVID and SVCLK data exchange. A lot of info on the web declare the TON signal failure on 2 pin of Max controller, and it has 90.2K, the voltage drop on power on, down to 0.35v. whrlen the system is off, then voltage on pin 2 is 8.4 volts.
Btw forgot to say, all voltages...Last edited by EdwardGeo; 06-07-2023, 03:12 AM.

Help to identify ATMEL SPI Flash - ATMLH184
On flash, I see marking: ATMLH184, but according to datasheets of this vendor, this marking only explains Year, etc...
So I can't make it read by programmer, it also can't identify it. How can I find a datasheet?...Last edited by EdwardGeo; 04-16-2023, 04:29 PM.

Thanks!
I2C data and clock present. Have captured traffic, will analyze for difference between keypress “1” and key “2”
KBC_Det is gnd connected
KBC_Int is pull up 3.3v, but goes to 0v when key pressed...

Dell XPS 15-9575 2-in-1
Schematic: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=106363
The problem comes from kbc board. That board is connected to EC through I2C interface. Will analyse data packages. My theory is based on EC as master sends command to read KBC ECE1117 buffer, but the buffer is empty or stuck with keycode.
In different laptops I have saw the internal iospace ram buffer with keycode, and keycode always remain the last status. So if ECE1117 has a failure, then...

Dell XPS, Keyboard Glitching
MODEL NAMEAZ10
PCB NO :LA-F211P
After bumped battery removal the keyboard doesn’t work properly. When pressing any key, it will react 5-7 times after 5-15 seconds.
The keyboard connected to KBC board. The cables are fine, all signals are checkedLast edited by EdwardGeo; 09-02-2022, 08:43 AM.

Re: 5 BLINKS - Hp Zbook 17 G4 - CPW70 LA-E171P
@Stevedb
Hi!
It seems like NVRAM contain some config files for system. I will explain why: After I have done a clean ME and NVRAM regions, performance of laptop was drop.
So:
on clean NVRAM i got 13899 scores of Geekbench 4 on 7820HQ which is pretty slow
on original NVRAM from stock BIOS I got 14999 Geekscores.
one of bioses gives me 15566 scores
Testing other Nvrams form web. Because it should have results of 16000-17000 scoresLast edited by EdwardGeo; 05-10-2022, 08:34 AM.

Re: 5 BLINKS - Hp Zbook 17 G4 - CPW70 LA-E171P
That's the way how EC recovery was restored on one of laptops. But actually some data could have different sizes and a lot of missing and as result HP SureStart will block loading of recovery.
So the easiest solution is to patch only first pading file at EC recovery bios from any available on WEB bioses. Patching first Padding will help to restore serial number of device
This NVRAM data is stored at EC RECOVERY Too.

_BuildId_body
_FactoryConfig_body...

The way is about How to restore EC recovery flash
This flash contain next info:
upd_01Padding_Non-empty_Padding => ec_01Padding_Non-empty_Padding.pad

0x3000 - Region_GbE_GbE_region
