Re: Asus p5ld2
I replaced the caps, and used the mobo in a freenas server. It's been up running for 4 days straight so far. Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Asus p5ld2
Should the 16v - 470uf KZG also be replaced by the Nichicon HM series?
I'm not really sure how to tell if the yellow caps are part of the VRM, so I will leave them for now.
Thanks again

Re: Asus p5ld2
I took some pictures of the caps around the motherboard. The yellows are the ones that are slightly bulged at the top. There are also a few lonely looking blue ones hanging around also. ...

Re: Asus p5ld2
You were correct, there are qty 5 - 6.3v 1500uf, qty 5 16v - 1000uf that sit around the cpu socket and qty2 16v - 470uf by the pcie 16x and the pcie 1x.They are all marked KZG.
There are other smaller caps the same color marked KMG (untied chemicon i think) & TMV, and a mess of 6.3V 820uF caps that are black and gold with 52IVGC marked in small red letters.
I am going to order up the the caps that are >= 1000uF.

Asus p5ld2
Hello, I'm new member to the forums but visited here many years ago to get replacement caps for my ABIT BP6 motherboard.
I have an ASUS P5LD2 motherboard that was experiencing random hard shut downs. I noticed it had 2 yellow capacitors 6.3v 680uF that the K indent on the top looked like it was slightly buldging.
Can someone recommend a replacement for these caps?
Picture of one of the caps borrowed from toms hardware (right above the blue IDE):
