• Re: Samsung UA65MU6100W - No Backlight

So while I was testing those pins, after around 5 power cycles, the big transform stopped making noise and I wasn't able to measure any voltages on the backlight connector. So I stopped trying to measure the voltage and plugged the back light connector back in, power cycled it again, and it lite up?

I was only able to measure pins 15 and 16 before it started working again, both were zero volts (and they're not connected to anything so not sure what their purpose is).

I'll try and measure the other pins tomorrow if...

• Samsung UA65MU6100W - No Backlight

Hey all,

I've recently acquired a 65" Samsung TV with a broken backlight. The previous owner mention that the backlight would come good intermittently for a few months after the issue first occurred. There is sound and picture if I shine a torch at the screen.

I've cracked it open and measure the following voltages:

Big cap: 335V

PSU-Mainboard connector:
1 Fail Count 3.37V (Does this indicate a failure somewhere?)
2 ANA-DIM 2.1V (Not sure what this is)
3 A13V 12V (Maybe a bit low?)
4...

• Re: Hisense 55P6 - No power no standby

So I've been thinking about the replacement mosfet I ordered. The dead mosfet had "CS840F A9h" written on it, which I could find the datasheet for but nobody was selling them. I ended up ordering this: https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/mosfets/8648578/?bid=900022&cid=rscDM208&cm_mmc=AU-EM-_-undefined_01%2Fec%2FTue%20-_-rscDM208-_-ProductDescriptionLink as it seemed to be a pretty close match at the time.

I've since found that an IRFS840 would be an exact(?) match for the broken FET, and there are a few...

Looks like the source and drain of v805 are shorted so guess I'll replace that and see if it works.

So if I were to measure the voltage on the gate of v805 and v806 that would give some indication on wether the ic is working?

From reading some other posts a Vcc of 20v seems reasonable? Not sure where would be best to check next, probably to verify that the IC is still good but not sure how to do that.

All the diodes seem fine. The voltages around the IC are:
Pin 3: 20v
Pin 8: 180v

Thanks Chris I gave that a go but no luck.

• Hisense 55P6 - No power no standby

Hi all,

I've got a Hisense 55P6 which won't turn on and has no standby light.

I've cracked it open and measured the voltages on the connector between the PSU and main board, but got 0V on all pins. I have 330V on both of the big capacitors so we're getting power.

Not sure where to check next. Grateful for any help.

PSU details: Hisense RSAG7.820.7748 HLL-4360WQ. (I found a replacement but it's a bit pricey http://www.mxmee.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&manufacturer_id=1762&product_id=11815)Hi all,

• Re: Soniq S55V16A-AU stuck in standby

Hey so I've found what the problem was. The transistor below the capacitor budm marked in his images had been knocked and the pcb pad on one of it legs had been ripped up a little bit. See the attached image. I soldered a wire from the leg to a nearby pad and the tv came back to life.

Feel kinda silly I didn't notice it earlier, could've saved everyone some time. Thanks everyone for you help.

Cheers...

Nope, without the mainboard connected the only voltages are 5VSB at 5.2V and ADJ at around 0.75V. Everything else is 0V.

The voltage across the large capacitor was 382V.

Here is the pinout and voltages of the mainboard connector.
Pin 1 PSON 3.3V
Pin 2 5VS 5.2V
Pin 3 5V 5.2V
Pin 4 5V 5.2V
Pin 5 5V 5.2V
Pin 6 GND 0V
Pin 7 12V 0V
Pin 8 12V 0V
Pin 9 BL_ON 0V
Pin 10 GND 0V
Pin 11 ADJ 1.55V
Pin 12 OPC 0V (Not connected to anything?)
Pin 13 GND 0V

• Soniq S55V16A-AU stuck in standby

I've got a 55" Soniq LED TV which is stuck in standby mode (initiator LED on, but no picture/sound/backlight). It will intermittently start working again for a few days or weeks, but it has been months since the last time it turned on. I've seen a lot of similar issues with Soniq TVs that were fixed by updating the firmware, but I need to turn it on to update the firmware so no luck there.

I've taken the back off and visually inspected it but everything looks fine. No exploded capacitors or signs of overheating etc. All of the 1117 regulators on the main board were outputting...
