Hello everybody; I have a question, the chip: "winbond 25q80dvsig" is the BIOS chip for this computer, right? If it is I can just dump the BIOS unto a file and upload it here for assistance to remove the password, right?...Leave a comment:

It worked but when the installation loads it says: Your computer is disabled. Try again in 60 Minutes.
Update: It went away after a PRAM, SMC reset....Leave a comment:

The keyboard stopped working and the power button doesn't work now.

I was able to read the chip with the programmer and get a dump of the bad bios. I will leave it attached in the comment.
I used AsProgrammer.
SPI option selected.
IC: N25Q064A
My board has the chip: 25Q064A
AsProgrammer doesn't have an option to search....Leave a comment:

Hello.
I'm doing this myself. I've done some research regarding how to do this. I was hoping that I could get some help from you here.
I don't have a SMD soldering kit so I bought this programmer:
SOIC8 SOP8 Flash Chip IC Test Clips Socket Adpter Programmer BIOS + CH341A 24 25 Series EEPROM Flash BIOS USB Programmer Module (Double Clip+ USB)
I know it can provide 5v or 3v so when it gets here; I hope that it has instructions so I don't send 5v or the wrong voltage on the wrong line; I don't want to kill this chip.
