TCL u55p6006 no backlight
So someone left me a TCL u55p6006 with no backlight.
I can see the image is on with a lamp, and it actually flickers once when switching it off.
I guess it's usual issue of dead leds, so I was wondering how I could check which ones are the faulty ones.
Is there any good tutorial on how to do it? Which led tester should I buy if any?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 17PW20.1 blows fuse right away
Well it seems fine.
I'm giving up on this one.
It'll go for spare parts.
Thanks for the help, guys ! I learnt a lot !

Re: 17PW20.1 blows fuse right away
Alright.
So I tested the BR according to techniques seen on Youtube...
So, between + and AC, I get 532
Between + and 2nd AC, I get 540
But then... between + and -, I should get the double, right?
And I only get 522.
Does that mean it's faulty?
Do you think I should unsolder it from the board to be sure to check it correctly ?...

Re: 17PW20.1 blows fuse right away
Oh, Ok !
Thanks Diif !
So it's D800, then... a GBU4M...
That's the one i was eyeing on, as it has 4 pins.
Ok. I'll try to check it...

Re: 17PW20.1 blows fuse right away
I'm sorry but....
I can't find any BR.
I'm used to what they look like on pinball machines, but even on the manual, i can't spot a BR....

Re: No reaction from JVC LT-46hw65u
Nope.
I did P_ON, and then BL8ON.
But as there's only pin7 with the 3.5v, I may have messed up the ting.
I'll try again tomorrow...

So I find a .733 ohms on the 2k position...

Re: No reaction from JVC LT-46hw65u
Well that's veeery interesting !
So here, when I connected the STANDBY to P_ON, I got a 24v on pin 1 (I didn't check the others, i thought it was enough a difference).
But then, when connecting STANDBY with BL_ON, nothing...

Re: 17PW20.1 blows fuse right away
Alright then !
So I should get a reading in one way, and no reading the other way round...
Let's get onto it !

Re: 17PW20.1 blows fuse right away
Ok. So I was completely wrong.
So i'm back on this, and i'll try to test these Q803, Q813 and Q814.
These are mtp6N60E...
I'll unsolder them from the board, but can I test these TMOS like normal FET ?

Re: No reaction from JVC LT-46hw65u
Waw !
One cannot invent this !
Thanks very much again.
I'll try that and I'll let you know
Just to be sure, I did those tests directly on the supply board, with the connector to main board disconnected.
Did I do it right ?Last edited by wylcot; 12-24-2020, 02:36 AM.

Re: No reaction from JVC LT-46hw65u
Thanks for your help, Dick ! For both threads !
So, no change with WIFI board disconnected.
And I get a 3.4v on pin 7 of the 12-pin connector, not much on the others.
And not much either on the 14-pin one...
It kind of makes sense, doesn't it?...
