Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
No short between L and N attached (with fuse F7001 currently in blown state).
Only got a multimeter.
I can test diodes (check continuity in each direction: should be no short, infinite resistance one way, and some (typically around 500) the other).
Not sure on caps. Can measure voltage, but not sure that helps?...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
It does look like this is short too, which is Q7801....

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
Where would be the incoming?
I can't find a schematic, but looks like like repair kits are sold for this issue which include the following components, but no information on actual part numbers:
F7001, BD7001, D7805, Q7801, IC7801, C7817, Q8700
Not sure I can find a C7138. Whereabouts are you looking?
I've attached some potentially better pics....

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
It does appear all pins are shorted on the rectifier bridge BD7001, but not sure if this is a symptom or cause?...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
The diode was short out of circuit. Replaced it and the fuse, plugged it all back in and the fuse immediately blew again.
Bit lost on what next now....

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
The highlighted diode (D7805) seems to be shorted.

Sharp LC-60LE741E - No Power
TV suddenly decided it didn't wanna turn on.
I've got no continuity across the fuse F7001, so that's gonna need replacing, but wondering what else I should be looking out for beforehand to avoid it potentially immediately blowing again.
Does anything look suspect on the attached image or are there some more continuity checks I should attempt first?
Cheers...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - Horizontal Bands / Stripes
I can't seem to find any available at the moment, but will keep an eye out.
Out of interest I tried just applying heat to just the right side of the board on / around the large chip and that temporarily resolved the issue again.
Thanks for the assistance. Much appreciated....

Re: Sharp LC-60LE741E - Horizontal Bands / Stripes
Well that was exciting.
Connected everything back up, and turned it on to make sure it still worked and displayed the same symptoms.
Left it on and wafted my heatgun over the board for a minute. Checked the picture and noticed the horizontal bands seemed to have reduced in size and were moving about a bit.
Hit it with the heatgun for another couple minutes and it seemed to resolve the issue completely.
However, after leaving it for a few minutes, the horizontal...

Are these clear enough?...Last edited by Strudul; 12-21-2022, 12:04 PM.

Not something that can be diagnosed with a multimeter easily I take it, just an iffy chip?...Last edited by Strudul; 12-21-2022, 11:12 AM.

Sharp LC-60LE741E - Horizontal Bands / Stripes
I have a strange problem that appeared suddenly on my SHARP LC-60LE741E 60” LCD television. It has 22 evenly spaced horizontal grey stripes over the entire area of the screen. The stripes only effect dim areas of an image. Blacks are still purely black, and anything brighter than 40% is unaffected. Bright outdoor scenes are fabulous. Dark low contrast scenes ... like all CGI on Netflix are unbearable. It's like your looking through dirty venetian blinds. The grey bars appear above any slightly dark colors. If you look closely, you'll see that there are white pixels mixed in with the correct...Last edited by Strudul; 12-20-2022, 06:58 PM.

Digihome 40272SM (Vestel) - Various Issues.
I've got a Digihome 40272SM with a number of problems, some of which appear to be intermittent.
1) Initially, the problem was an intermittent dark patch on the left side of the screen and a single 1 pixel wide black vertical line on the right side. The dark patch seems to have fixed itself, but the black vertical line remains. I'm assuming this is due to a faulty panel, so will just have to live with it (it's not too invasive for the use it gets).
2) Along with the above, the TV would turn itself off randomly. This only seemed to happen when the dark patch on the...Last edited by Strudul; 04-06-2021, 01:04 PM.
