Thank you! I will test and report back
Edit: power on, no video. Caps lock still blink 3 long and 5 short...

Hello, i have problems with this laptop model, 3 long blinks and 5 short. I'll post my backup bios, could anyone please transfer the DMI and all that is necessary for the new bios to work?
Edit: Laptop serial number: 8CG8493HBS...

sorry, i got lost. What thread should i use to post the backup? From where i downloaded the initial bios?...

it's been a while since i've worked on this machine. I have explored the contents of both the backups and a bios file downloaded directly from hp website, following the procedure you suggested. Both have the seman $BID (08567). I'll attach pictures of both the backup of the original bios, and the one downloaded from HP

Understood. Thankfully, i did 2 backups of the original bios before flashing the new one. I will do what you suggest, hopefully, the machine will work....

Looking through the schematic, 2.5V is generated at pin 2 on PU5101 (RAM IC), the voltage is present. I'm not sure what IC is responsible for the 1.8V rail, the schematic i'm using points to an IC not present in this board. Please let me know if there's somewhere i can measure the 1.8V rail.
I will post a link to the bios i used, but i don't have access to other bios programmers. The resistance to GND on VCORE rail is about 4 Ohms
Edit: I've measured ALL_SYS_PWRGOOD, and there are 3.3v present, as well as on VCORE_EN. Correct me if i'm wrong, but SYS_PWRGOOD being present means...

Update:
I have decided to re flash the BIOS. i used a CH341A, and after doing it, the machine powers on, fan spins but no video display. 1V_VCCSA is present and stable, but 1V_CPU_CORE is not, as well as 1V_VCCGT. I've measured the corresponding enable and PWM pins on the chips related to this rails. On the EN pins, they all get 4.94 volts (same as EN on VCCSA) and PWM voltage on both sit around 2.5V. I'm starting to think that PU4601 is faulty, as the PWM signal should be much lower, as is the case for VCCSA PWM voltage (around 0.24V).
Any help would be appreciated.

HP Pavilion X360 14-ba253cl power cycles
I have received and HP Laptop for repair becuase of no power. Initially, i measured the 5V Rail on the board with a direct short to ground, i discovered that PU4451 was faulty and causing the short. I have now replaced the component and 5V are present as well as LEDs after pressing the power button. After a couple of seconds, LEDs go off and turn on again, being the board stuck on an infinite loop were it never fully powers. After some measurements with the board powered on, 1V_CPU_CORE is not present. The resistance to ground on the rail is 4Ohms, which i think is normal for a VCORE rail....

Update:
its been a while since i worked on this gpu. I have replaced u610, and know 5V are present on the card. Vcore is missing, after reading and analyzing the schematic for a while, i discovered that u606 is the one responsible for creating Vcore. u606 has no voltage present on PIN 36 (EN pin)

EVGA RTX 2070 Super Black with u610 blown up
I have an RTX 2070 Super from evga with a blown up IC. With the IC on the card, pin 17 had a short to ground. This pin is connected to the 5V rail by R993, a 0hm resistor. I removed both U610 and R993, to discover that the 5V rail has 800 Ohms of resistance to ground. After checking some resources online, i found a picture which describes the usual measurements a Turing series GPU should have in order to "work properlly". Interestingly enough, this gpu doesn't have U31, the IC responsible for the creation of the 5V on the card, as well as no L47.
Are these 800 ohms rigth...

PU4502 was shorted on all of the pins. Removing it solved the short on DCBATOUT. Now, shorts on PWR_DCBATOUT_5V and PWR_DCBATOUT_3DV3 are present.

Cedar 13269-1 FX3MC DCBATOUT short
I've a FXMC motherboard with a short on the DCBATOUT line. The moment the charger is plugged in to the board, it will block itself for protection. I have remove PR4402 for isolating the short, and making sure the short doesn't come from AD+_TO_SYS.

Re: HP 14-R no power, buck controller getting hot
I don't have a lab power supply, just getting started with repairing electronics.
Edit: i may have acces to a power supply in my university, on one of the electronic labs. I'll see if they can let me use one for solving this shortLast edited by ReparaPC; 10-28-2022, 12:46 PM.

Re: HP 14-R no power, buck controller getting hot
After lifting one leg, before the coil there's a resistance of 575kohms BEFORE, and a resistance of 5ohms AFTER the coil. Seems like the short comes from the 3VALWP rail.
Edit: i've decided to desolder PJ302, as pin 5 of PU301 is also connected to the 3VALWP rail, so we can be totally sure there's no problem with the chip (for now)Last edited by ReparaPC; 10-28-2022, 12:13 PM.

HP 14-R no power, buck controller getting hot
I've got and HP 14-R with motherboard compal la-a995p rev 2.0 with no power. PU301 (RT8243A) is getting hot when the charger is connected, and 3.3v or 5v are not present. PL303 has a resistance to GND of 5ohms. Please, i need help on fixing this motherboard if possible. i'll attach the schematics...
