Alienware Aurora R12 with AX1650 wireless adapter problem
I have an Alienware Aurora R12 desktop and I recently just started reloading the hard drive after replacing one that failed. After reloading the wireless will not work. It comes up in the Device Manager as Intel AX201 and has the warning symbol and if you click into it, it says ‘Code 10 Cannot start’. I’ve tried uninstalling everything that seems related in the software center and the driver, and have tried reloading with two of the different files that I sourced from Dell and a driver package directly from Intel and after reinstalling, it winds up in the same condition that it started.... -
Is there not a way to get rid of this that does not involve going to hp? -

Zbook 17 G3 Machine Not Comitted
I replaced my motherboard with one from ebay and I’m getting the machine is in a not committed state error on boot up. I went through and put in all of the machine info. When I searched I didn’t see any posts tha seemed helpful.

Zbook 15u g6 bios problem?
This is my first time with this board and I know it's in common with the 840 g6.
It's a Crescent 6050A3022501-MB-A01. I wasn't sure which chip the bios was and i first removed U4700 and read it, and after RCUnlocker didn't work, I posted the dump and was hinted to read the other bios chip. I found U366 on the backside of the board and when I tried to read that, it came up blank. I tried my EZP2019 and 2010 and both say it's blank. I also tried a couple of CH341's I have and neither one would read the chip. What would cause that chip to be blank or am I looking in the wrong place? Any ... -

Well that's not good, I removed U366 and my EZP2019+ says it's blank and the two ch341's i have won't read it.
Can I find a blank bios somewhere and use that? I don't have another machine of this type around.Leave a comment:

HP Z620 boot from NVME problem
I have been trying to build myself up a Z620 workstation for a while now, and I think I finally have all of the parts that I need and this is giving me gout. It's my understanding that that as long as you have the newest firmware, one is supposed to be able to boot from a NVME drive in a Z620 workstation.
There are lots of different posts across the internet and they don't all seem to agree with one another and a lot have old, outdated information.
I have the official Z-Turbo adapter cards; I've tried a HP branded Samsung SM951, as well as a couple of other drives... -

I was referring to puked a little more metaphorically. The laptop stopped working normally, no fluids were exchanged.
I tried booting it up on the original MB without a video card and it wouldn't do anything, I wasn't sure if it was supposed to or not. I don't think i have another 2nd gen mobile processor laying around, I'll have to look.Leave a comment:

There was a display problem with the original. With the original amd video card, it booted fully, but the screen had no display and on an external monitor, there were horizontal lines across the screen. Swapping the video card out for an Nvidia, the display was normal, but the driver for the either the discrete or built in Intel graphics would load properly. Showing a broken symbol in the device manager. If I tried gpu-z I was able to see both display adapters but a lot of the values were missing and I was unable to read the display bios. More Precision M6600 Fun
I finally broke down and bought a new to me motherboard for my problem child M6600. I rebuilt it as far as I needed to try and power it on, no battery, drives, keyboard, or palm rest. After connecting power, I'd get a quick spin of the cpu fan and when attempting to power it up, I'd get the power LED and both fans would spin for a second or two and then everything would stop. I changed the ram stick and moved it around, to no avail. I swapped in an Nvidia card for the original AMD and I was able to get to the dell splash screen once, but when I powered it off and added a keyboard and hard drive,... -

Hi All,
Can anyone point me in the direction of the bios chip(s) for a Zbook 15u G6?
I believe it to be the same board layout as a 840 G6, too. The packages look different than what I'd normally expect, unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.

HP Elitebook 2540P Restarts
I have a 2540P in my naughty pile that seems to power up and will stay on if I go into the bios setup screen, and will do so as long as I leave it on, but if I let it boot into windows, it will start cyclicly rebooting. This one has stumped me for a while and I'd love to see if there are any ideas.

Sorry to dig this back up, but I grabbed the wrong file above and now my H61M-P25 thinks its a H61M-P23. Is there a big enough difference to desolder the chip from the board again and flash it with the P40 bios?Leave a comment:

BIOS is version A18 and I downloaded it directly from Dell. The chipset drivers are from Dell too, with the exception of a couple that I let Windows Update do it's thing to. I can't see anything in the Device Manager that is either missing a driver or had a broken driver, besides the video adapters.
This laptop came with the base model AMD video adapter but it puked while one of the kids was using this laptop and the K3100M came from my pile of spares, and I've tried three different K3100's from my stash and they all act the...Leave a comment:
