I just took mine apart to do the same thing and I also get 188 followed by 01.0. Must be lost calibration data. You can still get these replaced from the successor company if you have the leaflet showing lifetime warranty on the non-user-replaceable battery.

If you go to [url]http://measurement-ltd.com/index.html[/url] and send an e-mail explaining your model has the lifetime warranty and the L showing, they can replace it. I just did that with mine and am waiting for the Accutire gauge replacement.Re: Accutire battery change -
