Sony TV Model: KDL-42EX440 (To repair or not; Troublshooting)
Hi everyone! I found this TV on the curb of a residential area. I don’t know if it’s an easy fix, if so I could maybe use a spare TV for one of the rooms. Also to note I think it may have water damage since I picked up after this past rainy weekend. I’ve attached pictures of the TV and possibly the damage as well. For starters I’m just an amateur in understanding how to repair devices but I would like to learn. Also I know a little bit of soldering as long as it’s not complicated. I would like some insight if it’s worth repairing or not. Thank you for taking the time to help me!5 Photos

LG 4K 60 inch TV (Model: 60UM6900PUA) (Troubleshoot , Power Issue)
Hi everybody! I found a LG 4K 60 inch TV (Model: 60UM6900PUA) on the street but don’t know what’s wrong with it. There was no power cable and remote. I plugged it in with a power cable I found in my house that’s 125V 7A into an outlet. The TV did not turn on, don’t know if the power cable I used has any bearing on it. I wanted to know if it’s worth fixing, I don’t know how to solder by the way. Thank you for taking the to time to help me!...

HP Officejet Pro 8620 Printer (Doesn’t print due to “failed or missing print head”)
Hi all, first I'd like to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to help me. So I have this HP Officejet Pro 8620 Printer that doesn't want to print at all. Once I turned the printer on I'm given this message “the print head appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed. Error Code: 0xc19a0013.” I was wondering if it's still worth repairing and if so what can I do to fix it? I've attached pictures of the message and the printer itself. Thank you again!...

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Hm I see so it's one of those little metal pieces like C25, C76, C61 or that area around it that's shorted?...

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Yeah I've noticed that too looks like VGH is half of what it should be for a working TCON board. It's interesting to see what you guys do to troubleshoot. I'm curious how come VGH is a problem why is the voltage lower than it should be?

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Hey everyone, So I have good news I've bought a new tcon board and replaced the broken one and now my TV works again! Yay! for educational purposes I'd like to know why the tcon board is broken. I still took down the voltages of broken and working tcon board in the attached pictures. Also another question is the differences in the tcon boards (top is broken and bottom is working) I've noticed is some of the test points are soldered in the working one as opposed to the broken one, would've me possibly soldering made it work? Just some...

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Um yeah I don’t have a heat gun and don’t know how to do soldering. Sorry if I didn’t mention that before. I was thinking is it possible to replace one of the boards to fix it?

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
As per instructions , So I reseated the cable between the board and the main board. After that I unplugged both cables at the bottom. Then I unplugged each bottom cable one at a time and turned on the TV. This is what I got. 1st picture is left cable unplugged and 2nd picture is right cable unplugged....

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Ah okay, don’t know where to find that cable but I’ll see if I can open up the TV and then I’ll take pictures of the inside. Also that’s good to hear that the panel might be still good, I was afraid the panel is bad.

Re: VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Hm I see, haven't spilled anything on or in the TV ever since I had it. Also maybe condensation got inside the TV?
Also I don't see a menu as it's just gray lines moving across the screen
Thank you both for for the feedback!

VIZIO TV (Model:VL370M) Display not working
Hi everyone! First I'd like to say I'm a newbie here on the forums and as well as repairing electronics so please bear with me. Just for clarification the only experience I have is replacing batteries in iPhones and also don't know how to do soldering. So aside from that I'd like to know if it's possible to repair this TV with no experience/ technical knowledge. The TV is a VIZIO VL370M and had for over 10 years. It was working until one day when I turned on the TV all I see is vertical gray lines and they're also moving across the screen. I've attached some pictures showing it. I have no clue...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi peeps, my username is L3git and heard from somewhere on the Internet that this forums talks about repairs and what not. Don't have much experience in repairing electronics and only have it as a small hobby at the moment. I've replaced some batteries in some old Apple devices but that's about it. I joined this forum in hopes of learning more and see if I can become more proficient in repairing as well. Thank you for welcoming me here!
