+RTC_CELL isn't directly a pin named on UE2 but I think you meant this :
+RTC_CELL on RPE5 is 3.107 V so VC_IN2# on UE2 is 3.085 V
+RTC_CELL_VBAT on UE2 3.119 V (measured leg one of CE11)...

Re: PS4 with BLOD - Getting UART enabled ?
Thanks for the confirmation, I already saw a crop of this image.
The RAM on the opposite side of these are part of the same bank right ?

Re: PS4 with BLOD - Getting UART enabled ?
Hi again !
I've had some people reach to me in PM for the validator, but I've found an open source alternative to the Bwe NOR Validator : https://github.com/andy-man/ps4-wee-tools
So first thing, I can confirm that the UART flag is indeed at 0x1C931F : https://github.com/andy-man/ps4-wee-tools/blob/605fe6f0e9234e98a137c3759ca732e69bd5deaa/utils/nor.py#L116
So you can easily edit this with an hex editor to 01 to enable UART, but this new tool eases the process, can validate part...

Re: PS4 with BLOD - Getting UART enabled ?
Okay guys ! So it has been a few days and I managed to find an old version of the BwE PS4 NOR Validator that I successfully used to enable UART on the PS4. I won't link to it directly (as I don't want it to be taken down, it's useful stuff) but I can give it to you via private message if you need it.
I don't know if it can be done on all versions on the same offset, but for my BIOS version (ps4 dump checker identified it as firmware 1.62.0000 ?), it changed...

PS4 with BLOD - Getting UART enabled ?
Hi everyone !
So a friend gave me a ps4 to rescue but it just pulses blue and never boots. I can't get it to safe mode either (maintaining the power button never gives a second beep, except after like 15 seconds to force turn off). Nothing visible on the board and removing the hard drive doesn't change anything (SMART data are OK on PC).
I'm trying to enable UART on the PS4 to get info on what it stops on, if a memory is bad, something is corrupted... as explained here : https://repair.wiki/w/PS4_UART_Guide
However, the software that everyone...

Re: Macbook A1466 - Long to wake from sleep after motherboard swap
Yes, but also no. The system report was telling me EFI was "MBA71.0176.B00" and is now "428.60.3.0.0", two vastly different numbering scheme. Plus I didn't find any official documentation on what the current version is (and couldn't compare it either to the "430.140.3.0.0" I found somewhere on the net).
The problem I had is that no recovery option (cmd + R, cmd + alt + R and cmd + alt + shift + R) booted in my case, it either errored out...

Re: Macbook A1466 - Long to wake from sleep after motherboard swap
Okay so, I solved my problem ! (while severely sleep depraving myself ^^" 5AM at the moment of writing)
So, I'm now 99% sure the problem was the EFI version on the new board was way too old to be compatible with the newest system version that was installed. As these updates are automagically installed when system is updated, Apple doesn't provide any easy way to update EFI or SMC versions.
I did an `/usr/libexec/firmwarecheckers/eficheck/eficheck --integrity-check` and got a message...

Macbook A1466 - Long to wake from sleep after motherboard swap
Hi,
I don't know if it's the correct forum for this but I hope so.
So, it's the continuation of https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=115802, I swapped the motherboard to a "working" second-hand one.
Now, I have weird issues with it. It works mostly fine (can boot, and everything seems to work) but every time I close the lid, even for 1 second, it takes a very long time to wake up, like between 30s and 1 min, instead of the normal .5s.
The weird thing is that in safe mode (booting with left shift pressed), it works fine....

Re: Macbook A1466 820-00165-A - No Power
Aside from R7102 missing (which is normal I guess cause it's written as NO STUFF in the schematics), I don't see anything. I will try to resolder U7100 just in case, but it's probably faulty then.

Re: Macbook A1466 820-00165-A - No Power
With only the battery (which is pretty flat I think, it reads 2.4V), I read 19.8 mV at R7012, I don't know if that's enough to be worrying.
With the bench power supply & no battery, I get the same as when the genuine charger is orange, PPDCIN_G3H at 14.97 V, PPBUS_G3H at 1.6 V, no fluctuation.
Edit : by the way, with the power supply it only draws around 15 mA, if that's of any significance

Re: Macbook A1466 820-00165-A - No Power
On F7140, both sides to ground are 13 MOhm slowly decreasing.
200 kOhm on L3095 and L7701, 30 kOhm on L7520, 393 Ohm on L7630, 0.67 kOhm on L7430, 20 kOhm on L7560, 20 Ohms on L7310 and L7320, 63 kOhm on L7750, 1.04 kOhm on L2920.
It is a genuine 45W Magsafe 2 (A1436) I'm using to diagnose.
Often, no light on charger, PPDCIN_G3H around 1.7 V, jumping around to 4 or 7 V (but might be a rounding of my multimeter for a short jump to the full 15V), PPBUS_G3H is 1.389 V.
Sometimes, orange light, PPDCIN_G3H...

Macbook A1466 820-00165-A - No Power
Hi, I'm scratching my head on this Macbook.
Last time I worked on it (October), it had a speck of corrosion on the back of the board that ate R2281 & R8131 (maybe some condensation on dust ?). I replaced these two by the same values and the board worked correctly for 4 months.
Done all tests from here with the board out of the case without any battery plugged in, only the power board, fan & the L cable that connects to J9500, to rule out anything plugged in.
Today, Charger LED is usually Orange but no signs of life at all.

Re: Macbook A1502 820-4924-A No power
Doesn't cost much to try a reflow aside 10 min & some flux, even though I didn't see sign of corrosion, you cannot always trust what a customer says about a board.
Wasn't going to reball this one anyway, was just asking in case I need to extract another SMC from another board, then I would need to reball it (and it would be my first reballing then).
Yeah, already tested without battery. Same.
I don't think so, resistance to ground is getting lower the closer...

Re: Macbook A1502 820-4924-A No power
3.318 V both
12.27 V
PPVIN_G3H_P3V42G3H is 18.75 V
PP3V42_G3H is 3.406 V
I will try a reflow then. Warned the owner about the risk, will try this a bit later.
Do you know the size of the solder balls of U5000 ? I ordered solder balls for reballing and a reballing jig but just want to check if I have the correct ball size if the owner wants to swap the SMC....

0.041 V
0.572 V
Almost the same if I reverse the probes (0.041 & 0.653)...

Re: Macbook A1502 820-4924-A No power
Yeah, last tests were made with the board out of the case (R5380 / R5381 are on back of the board)
Still 103 Ohm between the pads of R5380, the removed resistance reads correctly 1.989 kOhm out of the circuit.
Resistance of SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA to ground is 0.4 Omhs, so seems like something is pulling the SDA line to ground....

Re: Macbook A1502 820-4924-A No power
SCL is 2.02 kOhm
SDA is 1.7 Ohm
R5380 reads as 100 Ohms
R5381 reads as 2k Ohm
Voltage on R5380 is 3.40 V on the PP3V42_G3H side & 6 mV on the SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA side.
The value of R5380 seems too low, should I swap the resistor ? (the measure is in circuit so it may be 2kOhm but maybe there is a lower resistance path through the SMC)...

Re: Macbook A1502 820-4924-A No power
Removed D7050 & doing the same, 2.8V on SCL & 6mV on SDA, with only battery, only charger or charger+battery
