I thought I had ruined the bios chip, but using Asprogrammer I managed to flash it back into life. I did not use my own bios dump as I did not trust it, but found a .bin for the same model in another thread and... it boots again and the password is gone.

Very happy. Sorry for being a total moron going about this, but you guys pointed me in the right direction. Thanks!...

I think I already messed something up, as the laptop is no longer booting after dumping the BIOS using the USB programmer.

I used Ch341a USB Programmer Software V1.40.0.0 (SiberiaProg) as my tool.

I'll try your software, but I think it's already too late.

Thanks. I've been trying to figure out how to successfully dump this laptops BIOS, but I'm lost at which tools to use and the LENOVO section is not clear about this. Can I dump (and/or flash) the bios using command line tools, or will I always need a dedicated external usb programmer?

Sorry for my ignorance, I'm not very familiar with externally messing with BIOS chips.
I actually found a CH341a programmer lying around in one of my drawers which I think is suited to the job. And I think...

Hi guys, I hope I can ask your help in this thread.

I have a V110-15ISK (Type 80TL) laptop with a password protected BIOS and a dead HDD. I tried to replace said HDD with a modern SSD, but it is not recognised by the system. It probably needs some settings changed in the BIOS, but I can't get in.

I tried flashing some of the bios files on offer on this site using WinFlash64.exe which I got from Lenovo's site, but it errors out on me with error 233 (ERROR 233 - Only secured capsule is allowed on a SecureFlash...
