Re: A2159 - 820-01598 20V 0.4A no sign of life
Still didn't work with 3 different USB-C cables.
May it come from the fact that I don't have the same OS version on both Mac?

Re: A2159 - 820-01598 20V 0.4A no sign of life
I tried DFU but it failed with the following message :
(AMRestoreErrorDomain erreur 9 - Failed to receive message from device, might be connection problem with USB host. (Communication error, possibly USB disconnection)) [AMRestoreErrorDomain – 0x9 (9)]
Also the only other functionnal mac I have is not with the same OS has the one I want to repair, so I guess it's a problem for the DFU?
Any one would have another solution to try?...

A2159 - 820-01598 20V 0.4A no sign of life
Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to board repair and I'm trying to repair a Macbook Pro A2159 which seems to had some water damage.
My USB-C Amp meter shows 20V and 0.4A with the motherboard disconnected (it kind of goes up and down from 0.4A to 0.035A after around 30 seconds then back to 0.4A) and 20V and at least 1A (to 2-2.5A) when the motherboard is connected to everything inside the case.
The CPU heats but that's the only sign of life the mac is showing.
I use the original 60W charger.
I tried to figure out a way to find the problem before posting...
