I can't speak for any other monitor but in regard to the VX2235, I've been able to fix stuck pixels.
Using a soft cloth over the tip of your finger, rub the screen with your finger nail in the area of the stuck pixel and see if that doesn't resolve the problem....

Six year ago, I purchased three identical monitors (Viewsonic VX2235wm) of which all seem to be dying.
Fortunately, in a Google search I came across this site which has been invaluable in troubleshooting the issue.
