    Re: Asus UX52VS BIOS Needed.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I took a pic of the chip before I gave it to the shop and the marking on the chip is:

    MXIC
    MX25L6445E
    M2I-10G

So I returned my CH341A programmer because there were too many problems with it. The clamp wires were unreliable (continuity test wasn't connecting all the time when you moved the cable), and the programmer itself looked damaged. Therefore, I'm without a programmer and I'm about to order something, but not sure what to order. I saw that there's a CH341A version out there that...

    Re: Asus UX52VS BIOS Needed.

Thanks Lisa! Just wondering, is this a BIOS with a clean ME?

I'm new to this bios/Intel ME stuff and unfortunately before you posted the bios, I ended up bringing my laptop to a repair shop. They had it for 2 months and haven't been successful with the repair. I sent then the BIOS file, and they said they were unsuccessful, so I asked them what they did, and they said all they tried was to flash the file without desoldering the chip or verifying the flash, so my confidence with that repair shop just went down the drain. The reason I'm asking...

  • Asus BIOS How To Reset To Default Settings?

Hello... Where do I start. I have 2 questions/scenarios that might bring this laptop back to life, so here it goes!

I have this laptop (Asus UX52VS) where I was flashing the BIOS to it and it froze during the process. I didn't have a reliable BIOS chip programmer at the time (It was a CH341A USB Programmer from Amazon where it took hours just to get the clamp on the chip and then every time I read, it gave me different results/corruption, and never would pass the verify test as no 2 reads were the same data), so I brought it to a shop. They had it for almost 2 months, but during...

    Sorry.

Ok. I ordered a CH341A programmer from Amazon, but it is defective because the wire going to the clamp has shorts in it. If the wire is moved/manipulated in any way, the connection becomes altered/disoconnected.

Every read of the chip with the equipment that I have has different CRC/results, so the equipment I have is unreliable.
I was just planning ahead, but here is one of the corrupt dumps anyways....

started a topic Asus UX52VS BIOS Needed.

    Asus UX52VS BIOS Needed.

Requesting a 8MB BIOS dump (.bin) of the Asus UX52VS. There is only one version of the BIOS released (202).

I have the 6MB version (.rom), but my laptop doesn't POST due to a corrupt BIOS so I'm guessing its useless.

    Thanks in advance.
