Okay, I've now started in Factory Mode multiple times. Finally, got the Option menu to load and selected Factory Reset. When I get to the Factory Reset button/page, nothing seems to happen when I select it or use the arrow keys on the remote. What more do I push to activate the reset process? OR How do I know that it has started/been run?

With the splash screen, it takes about 10 seconds to get the Factory Menu up. And maybe another 10 seconds to get through the Option Menu to the Factory Reset page....

No, it definitely turns off and that is it. It does not try to reboot/restart on its own.

Okay, I'm really green when it comes to this. I took the stand and back cover off to reveal these images. I've attached some images as my first next step: back, main, ip board, & tcon(?). As the power cord attaches to the ip board, is that where the voltage readings want to come from? I don't know which component is more or less significant that the next......

Yes, the red standby light illuminates when the set "shuts off."

Is it okay to take the back cover off and leave the TV on the stand? Seems like that is what I would want to do to also be able to see the screen for testing purposes, such as the power supply, as you suggest. Just getting started on disassembly now......

The TV turns on fine. TV started turning off on its own about 30 seconds after I power it on a couple of days ago. Ran just fine about 5 hours before this started happening but had been off for those hours. Problem started the first time after that. I have turned it on from the remote and from the front panel and see no difference in behavior.

I have been able to turn it on multiple times and change channels and volume. The picture is good. The set just doesn't want to stay on.

Mark from So Cal. I'm a newbie looking for help with some repairs. My immediate need is a TV but I also have some Mac computers and a CD player in need of some help.
