Looks like it was tim, Iit was soft and pliable, cleaned it off as best I could, Well that was embarrasing!

Thanks for replies, I will inspect further, the last 2 weeks the board fails to boot after a few hours unplugged from power without messing around with the bios/psu. Its just plays dead, no life at all. Have tried three different quality power supplies to no avail. When it does eventually boot the PC tends to behave normally, but I have had 2 random reboots (no bsod) the same evening after the pc had been on a 3-4 hours. It doesnt get a lot of use. Maybe a couple of hours a day. Mobo is only 18 mths old. Its the first time I have paid big dollaros and its...

Excuse my ignorance, is this enough evidence of a leaking capacitor.?
If not whats happening?
I would like to RMA this motherboard.

Before I go ahead and order the parts, with x-sustain disconnected the picture is dull and lifeless, and lacks any colour to speak of, is this normal or does that mean the y-sustain may be faulty also? Unfortunately all I know is the previous owner said the picture was good before the fault happened.Last edited by avkdm; 02-05-2016, 01:45 AM.

Hi Guys,
New here, just read up on these plasmas on this forum, and came to the conclusion after troubleshooting that the x-main is faulty.
I inherited this tv for free so was wondering if its worth fixing.
When the x-main is disconnected from the power supply, the tv starts as normal, I can see a picture/hear audio and can navigate with the remote as normal.
When the x-main is connected just get the power supply constantly clicking on and off (relay)
Now I checked out the board and there is no obvious swelling/leakage damage to capacitors.
I can pick...
