  • I have a Gateway GWTN156-5BK, board N14PB REV
    1.0, S/N 1GWTN1565BK1A20L010968
I need this laptop EC BIOS but since theres no any resource available for this model nor bios schematic or EC BIOS I've found that 4GR BIOS is compatible, and since the boards are the same I think EC BIOS should be the same too, so if anybody can provide me an EC BIOS dump ill be very gratefull

Last update, this will sound stupid, but I was flashing the wrong chip all this time, I removed the spi memory from the EC, I actually found the real BIOS chip and flashed it with the GWTN156-4GR BIOS, it's actually the same thing. instead of 16 GB of RAM, it will be reduced to 8 GB, I was actually lucky because if I had flashed the BIOS of the GWTN156-11BK my laptop would probably be fried since mine is AMD and the 11BK is Intel. In any case, I think that my BIOS is not corrupt, I am suspecting that the problem is the ITE8987E since the problems that the laptop is presenting are related to the...

Update, actually tried with two different BIOS, the GWTN156-4GR and GWTN156-11BK, both had same behavior, laptop turn on only the first time after BIOS install, then it only turn on randomly, it is almost unable to boot windows and the few times i could reach the Windows desktop it goes black screen suddenly but laptop keeps powered, otherwise it always reboot when triying to boot Windows ang got stuck in Gateway logo.

Hello everyone, today I was able to make the laptop work with the GWTN156-4GR BIOS, it is a similar model of laptop, I had to take the BIOS chip of a Lenovo Yoga 2 since the laptop chip got damaged, I programed it with the new BIOS an solder it into motherboard, the laptop was able to turn on but if I unplug the carger it becomes unable to turn on again, would it be a problem of compatibility of the BIOS or chip compatibility problem?

The BIOS chip I'm using is 25B64BSIG...

    GWTN156-5BK BIOS corrupt?

Hello everyone, I have a Gateway GWTN156-5BK that a friend just gave me, it turned on normally but a message always appeared complaining about corrupted fTPM nv, I always select the option to keep that data and continue, but today out of curiosity I simply selected the option to clear fTPM data and next to that my laptop turned off and I couldn't turn it back on, I cleaned a CMOS by removing the battery but it didn't work, the laptop doesn't even turn on the fan. I suspect that the BIOS was corrupted in some way, if anyone knows how to solve that problem or can help me with a BIOS dump for this...
