Problem solved. The area around R7050 also showed some serious gunk (this part of the board was mentioned in repair wiki). I cleaned everything, looked for corrosion and measured again without finding any problem.
The board turned from 5v to 20v and the battery is also charging again. But i think it's impossible to tell if a single component made this fault.

Hi all,
before starting a new thread i add my problem here. I got a A1989 which was charging sometimes and sometimes it was not. So i found gunk at the same spot of TO. I claned everything and the battery took a charge. I made some charing tests during the next days to find out today that it was not charging again. :-\
Sinced it worked before can a bad connection be the problem or can this also happen with a dying component?

Master Liu has a very good video but removing all layers is a pain. I would say i need 5-6 hours and also have a very high chance of breaking something.
Also most sources recommend to take a used screen because of missing calibration of new screens. But i'm Not sure If this also is the case for 2019 models.

MacBook Pro A2159 please help me to identify if this is a flexgate
Hi all,
i have a MacBook Pro 2019 A2159 which shows this screen when you boot it. I tried a SMC and PRAM reset without any changes. Everything in this book looks very clean even the board. The only "strange" thing i saw when it was open ist the fan which didn't spin at any time.
Any ideas where to search for faults?...2 Photos

Macbook A2141 820-01700 board is getting power but not starting. Dead SSD?
Hi all,
i have a Macbook 2019 pro which is not booting. Inspecting the board i had lots of dust and some corrosion in the U9080 area. I cleaned everything and looked for shorts and other visible problems.
I put everything back together and my USB tester showed 20v, 3.5a and 71w without booting or any fanspin. After several trys i was able to get into DFU mode but revive and repair both don't work and i get a error message (AMRestoreErrorDomain - 0x6 (6)
My thermal cam shows that ne NAND SSD on one side of the board have around 50c (the whole area here is heating up) and...

Sonos Play 1 Gen. 2 with no power
Hi all,
i got a Sonos Play 1 Gen. 2 with no light and no power. Until now i only worked on Gen. 1 and know which components "like" to blow up but at this board everything looks fine. Until now i also didn't find any short.
The only problem i found was chip 6D9 heating up to 110c when power supply is connected. Since this is a PMIC i will replace it.
Do you have any other ideas what to check or can these chips get faulty without any other component quitting the job?1 Photo

Help to identify components / find schematics on a Flir Scout TKX board
Hi all,
i got a Flir scout where a connector was ripped off and i will have to make new pads. One big problem i have right now is that 2 small smd components are missing near the pads and i was only able to find a comparable pic of this part of the board.
So right now i need to know what i need exactly for a replacement and the values. I contacted Flir by mail but they don't give out schematics and told me that i can use the guarantee if i have it (funny guys).
Anybody has an idea what i can do?2 Photos

Hello,
i was able to fix the issue. The board was covered with some very fine dust and i gave it a good vacuum cleaning and finished with isopropanol. This dust was also inside most of the connectors.
After putting everything back together the macbook started normal and all colors look like they should. :-)

MacBook Pro A1990 820-01041A strange / inverted colors and faded look on display
Hi all,
i got a A1990 which shows strange colors. Sometimes looking faded or like a water mark and only visible when the cursor moves over the spot. With an external display everything looks fine.
So is there anything i can do on my own to fix this issue?
It doesn't look like the flexgate macs i have seen....2 Photos

MacBook Pro A2141 - is it possible to take preventive measures?
Hi all,
i recently got a Macbook Pro A2141 with a load of dust and hairs inside. After cleaning everything and checking the logicboard it looks fine and only needs a new battery and i will replace the thermal paste.
Since this model can have serious moisture problems is there anything i can do as a protection? Cover sensible parts with a layer etc.?
I was not sure if this thread is correct here but i don't have any acutal repair on this machine.

So once again i'm looking at this board and i guess i made a mistake.
With power supply connected i get 0.070A and it goes up to 0.078 and back down and up. So is this already power cycling?
If so i also get different measurements when testing output of U8100 and U8100.
Diode mode:

PPVDD_ECPU_AWAKE 0,47v

PPVDD_DISP_S1 0,091v

Resistance is too low on all points. As example...
