Re: Toshiba Satellite - Locks up when plugged in
Hey guys, thanx for the helpful repair procedure and photos, i just successfully repaired one A300 with the same NEC capacitor problem. I managed to scavenge six 300mf smd caps from a dead motherboard, desoldered the NEC, and soldered on the pads 4 caps just as shown on your pics.
Now the laptop is up and running perfectly, and i can charge my client properly for the job well done.
Cheers. ...

Re: Panasonic TV, vertical osc. issue
tvtech thanx for the useful post...
i live in the countryside of Greece, so I'm waiting till next week when i'll travel to Athens for business, so i'll buy myself the components from an electronics store i know. Thank you for the offer though....
the tech stays in business because he's the only one around here, so he never runs out of customers....
i opened the tv two days ago and i saw that he changed C456 and C455 with old caps, not fresh ones, and when i looked at the bottom of the board to see...Last edited by Elusive_Cure; 12-06-2007, 06:24 AM.

Re: Panasonic TV, vertical osc. issue
the bloody bastard took more than a month to fix it....
i thought he'd have it done by the time i returned from a seminar i had to attend,
i didn't have the time to trace out the problem myself, that's why i gave it elsewhere to be fixed.
p.s.
although i have a bachelor's degree on elec. engineering, i'm not that confident
on working on tv's and such (lack of experience), i mostly focus on the IT sector as a freelance comp./network tech.
however, since i was...

Panasonic TV, vertical osc. issue
Hey guyz. i need some advice here
I have a panasonic TX25 MD3P tv (euro spec) that after 10 or so years of operation it stopped displaying picture but had sound.
I took it to the local repair shop where the technician changed the vertical oscilation IC (LA7845N) and gave it back to me.
After a couple of days (literally a couple) it gave up again.
I haven't tried to repair it myself, but I'm sure I'd do a better job than him (now that i have the schematics on hand).
Can someone experienced give me some advice on what...

Re: Just resurrected a Gigabyte Advance 10T
Update :
The board is a QDI Advance 10B, not a Gigabyte one, and here are some pics from the process…
The Donor board is a Soyo Sy-6BA slot 1 with 4 IDE and 4 Mem slots, a true wonder of it's time.
the red squared 1000 and 1500 μF Licon caps were bulged
The whole deal took me an hour, i was tired but curious for the outcome. I took out the caps from the soyo board re-practicing my soldering...Last edited by Elusive_Cure; 12-01-2007, 07:47 AM.

Just resurrected a Gigabyte Advance 10T
Thanx to your advice here i managed to resurrect a board (Gigabyte Advance 10T-socket 370) i bought in a flea market for one euro. Had three RAM caps fried and a couple more near the PSU socket, replaced them with my good old cheapo solder iron and it works fine. I had some spare p3/celeron chips lying around but no board for them, now i have another guinea pig for my network.....I'll post some photos soon, and will present a HOW-To on my tech blog, as soon as i find time to put the story together...
Cheers guyz...Last edited by Elusive_Cure; 11-30-2007, 03:25 PM.
