Re: Poor Internet connection
I don't think that it is a matter that concerns your computer hardware at all. Your best bet is to monitor how the network activity is keeping up as that could pretty much spring a lot of stuff to run at the background even without the user fully gaining knowledge over it and what is being utilized. You just have to be really familiar and versed with it. Hope this helps.

Re: Buying new laptop, recomendations?
As with buying any computer know, it would be something to consider and ponder about when talking about the Ivy Bridge processor options. I am excited with it though I don't think I would be obliging to upgrade this soon with a newer hardware just acquired recently.
But it would be very interesting to see what the new additions and upgrades come packing with.

Re: Powerbooks...
I am on a MacBook Pro and I am very happy with it. Have been familiar with the whole MB lineup ever since and the latest, late 2011 ones are really nice.
Though the just announced retina display capable option just makes the ball game a lot more interesting. They may be base models but are on a totally different league on their own. You just have to be more familiar and versed with how you see them to be fit.
